Re: Playstation 3 60GB
Hello. I read your other post and I have some information for you.
When you put in a disc, listen for the disc to start spinning. If you do not hear that then the laser and/or the spindle have blown out. You will have to get your Blu-Ray player serviced by a pro or Sony. Sony may fix it for free. They know that the drives are failing. So call them first. If you know how to do it yourself, you will need part KEM-400AAA / KES-400A if it is not spinning. If it's spinning and not reading the laser may be dusty or need replacement. The laser by it's self is part number is KES-400AAA. If you need any more information, please do not hesitate to hit my "Ask Me" button.

Here is why!!!!! The PS3 is NOT a very good computer, and trying to run web pages like Face Book on the PS3 is very buggy. Sometimes it will work, others, it won't. The reason being, you can not update Adobe Flash on the PS3, and therfore, not able to run a lot of the flash objects found on the page.
mmk first thing is that you will need to get your playstation into safe mode step 1 make sure the system is off (solid red light) step 2 hold down the power button until the light changes from green back to solid red step 3 hold down the power button you will here a series of beeps coming from your system listen for the quick double beep (less than one second between beeps) then take you finger off step 4 you should see a message about plugging your controller in follow thos and 6 options should come up step 5 choose option 3 if this does not resolve repeat above steps 1-4 and choose option 5 (this will erase everything) step 6 if the above does not resolve it is a hardware issue and you will need to contact sony
This could be any of a number of problems try these solutions one of
which may work. If they all fail to work you can contact sony directly
Remove any obstructions from the vents.
Allow at least 4 inches of clearance on all sides for the PLAYSTATION 3.
Remove the PLAYSTATION 3 from any cabinets so it is out in the open.
Shut the PLAYSTATION 3 down completely and let it cool down to room temperature, then try running it again.
If the fan cannot be heard before the system shut down, the PLAYSTATION 3 may need to be sent in for service.
If there is no airflow from any of the vents, the system may need to be sent in for service
Also it seems you have the lazer problem which currently has no fix. You will need to contact Sony at the links provided above and get the system serviced. If your warranty has expired it will cost approx. $180
Need more information. What do you mean you haven't been able to load anything since? What game is it? What version of the PS3 system's XMB are you running? Version 2.2 came out last night. Try updating.
