If your not getting ANY sound then you probably have a bad component on the logic board, which will have to be replaced.

Try a reset and a restore

if they dont work then there is probably a loose connection in the ipod and it needs to be repaired

Instructions can be found here:

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Sound Problem

Sounds like something's up with your EQ. From the main menu, go to Music>Music Options>Music EQ and try another setting or play around with Custom. Could also be volume. Go to main menu>Settings>Reset All (NOT FORMAT!!!) Recommend trying both in given order. Hope this helps.

My ipod crackles and my hearing seems to be getting damaged

Id say you should go see a doctor. But for now id say that you should do your best to not listen to it for a while as it can affect hearing. try to use full on speakers if you can. On you tube there are a few Sub-Woofer sound tests you can do. Try playing one (low volume) and repeat. (not a song one)

http://www.teenbuzz.org/ also to hear which frequencies are out of range to you click here. ( click the second icon on the list further down the page)

But yeah go see a doctor. Perhaps some ear drops.

My Coby MP200 will not play the songs that are on it.

While it may be something you're well aware of, did you navigate to the folder on the Coby where the songs reside? Is it possible you loaded the mp3s in a directory that is not the default and so the player doesn't see any music. Another possibility is the copyright protection won't allow the player to play the songs. The license may reside on your computer but is not on the mp3 player. Last two thoughts (as stupid as they sound) are is volume up? Is earphones securely plugged in? Have you tried the earphones on another unit to make sure they work? MF326 play

Try increasing the volume. If it still does not work, then your jack is dead. There is not a repair service for these, so you will have to replace the player.

No sound

Reset the player - double check the sound settings in the menu
if these methods fail, run the recovery method mentioned in the user's manual
if the recovery even fails, then it is a hardware issue with the headphone jacks and the player will have to be replaced

Can't hear songs on my MP3

Are they .mp3's or .wma's? I haven't gotten .wma's to play, but .mp3's work fine.

You may also want to try creating a folder in the player that contains your music. Shouldn't matter, I know, but you know what that's worth.
