Re: Onn freeview box - no ch12, and multicopies of 2...
It sounds like you might have a signal related problem.
If you are missing channel 12, it is likely that some other channels from that same group are missing too.
Run a fresh auto-setup, and see what comes in.
If you can find a menu that lets you test the signal strengths, then make a note of how strong they are.
If you find that you are suffering low signal strengths, you will probably find that getting this sorted will rectify the recording problem too.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

This model only has an analogue tuner so wont receive anything if the analogue signal in your area has been switched off. either buy a new new with a freeview tuner built in or just use that one in conjunction with a freeview box.
1. Press [HOLD]. “HOLD” appears on the display. 2. Press [PROG]. CH appears and blinks to indicate that you are in the Programming Mode. To change the displayed frequency, use [UP] or [DOWN] while “CH” is blinking. 3. Press [PRIVATE]. “PRIVATE” appears on the display. If you want to program it into another bank, press the desired bank key. The lowest open channel appears on the display. 2 screens alternate to indicate that open channel is available to be programmed. The scanner automatically selects the lowest open channel (000.0000) for easy programming. If all channels have been programmed (there are no open channels in the bank), channel 1 appears. Use [UP] or [DOWN] to select a new channel and even overwrite old channels. 4. Press [PROG] to store the frequency in the desired channel. Note: Press [BAND] to escape from programming mode before step 4.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/ If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box. This depends on how your video signals are delivered to the box, in most cases terrestrial TV signals received by ariel, cable are passed through the recorder, then to your TV, this means you can record 1 channel on the box and view another, it appears that this recorder only has 1 tuner so you cannot record 1 station and watch another on the output of this box.
with regard to freeview / satellite tuning, these are connected directly to the DVR and they only have 1 channel to view at a time, so unless you acquire a satellite / cable tuner which allows for dual channels or if you acquire a second cable/sattelite box from your provider it is not possible to record 1 channel and view annother
so this problem can be circumvented with other products, but the expense may be more than you expected, as most cable / sattelite provders will charge to provide a second box. also you will also have to be aware of interfeerance with remotes if 2 sat boxes are used. as the remotes are likly to be similar.
Channels 1-5 are I believe for Analogue reception. To record from my digital Freeview box, I'm plugged into SCART port 2 (bottom most port on right hand side of machine as you look at it from the front). Use your remote to change the channel to A2 with the <CH> rocker button just above the video+ button on the controller. This will then record whatever channel your freeview box is set to - the only pain is you can't watch a separate channel whilste recording.

The “Timer” Indicator lights up on DECK.
• You can do Timer Recording with the power on or off.
• “TIMER REC WILL START SOON” appears on-screen for 2 minutes
before Timer Recording starts. If DECK is in DVD mode, no message
appears, but the VCR REC Indicator, the VCR mode indicator and
“REC” will flash on Multi function Display.
Hi, I think the better task is (A) You can try switch scart's!! Then try to record on DVDR or leave as it is and look out for picture on your VCR!!! If you do (B) you will lose a picture quality! good luck
You can only record freeview channels through your box.
Assuming the digi-box has two scart sockets, connect as follows:
Scart 1 or TV scart of the digi-box to the TV.
Scart 2 or VCR/DVD scart of the digi-box to scart 1 of the DVDR3380.
The TV aerial should already be connected through the digi-box and DVDR3380 to the TV
To record from the digi-box, select AV1 / E1 / EXT1 on the DVDR3380
If you are doing timer recordings, you will also need to leave the freeview box on the channel you wish to record, or set the freeview box timer.
