I cant see disc

One drive - It must show since you are already in the drive. You can you use the dskmgmt.msc if you are missing space.

New drives have to be readied for use. First make sure BIOS recognizes internal hd. Then in Windows

Multiple drives. USB or internal - Try Start > Run (aka Search in Win 7) type dskmgmt.msc. Look for your drive there. It should be without a drive letter. Right clicking will give you the options of initializing, creating disc partitions, assigning logical drives, and formatting. If this seems a little daunting. A wizard should load. If not there is refresh icon on the toolbar.

How do you format a cd

For windows 7:
1.Insert a disc into your computer's CD or DVD drive.
2.In the dialog box that appears, click Burn files to disc.
3.In the Burn a disc dialog box, type a name for your new disc.
4.Click Show formatting options, and then click one of the following formatting options:
-Live File System

-Mastered

5.Click Next to prepare the disc.

and for CD-RW:

1 Insert a disc into your recorder drive.

2 In My Computer, right-click your recorder drive.
The 'Use with DLA' option in the popup menu should have a check mark beside it. If this option is not selected, click on the HELP button and follow the steps in "Using DLA With Your Recorder Drive" before proceeding.

3 Click Format.
DLA's Format dialog box appears. The options available to you will depend on the type of recorder drive you have.

4 Set the options in the Format dialog box.
a ) Type a name for your disc in the Volume label text box.
b ) Select either Quick or Full Format by clicking beside the option you prefer. DLA can perform either a Quick or Full format of your discs.
c ) If you have an EasyWrite CD-RW drive, you will have the option to create an EasyWrite disc by placing a check mark beside Enable EasyWrite. (See Using DLA with EasyWrite Drives for more information.)

5 Click Start.
If you selected Quick Format or you selected Full Format and your drive supports background formatting, you will be able to use your disc within minutes. If not, you must wait until formatting is complete before you can write files to your disc.

I hope this will help you

I have recently purchased a new HDD (I now have 2 Hitachi P7K500 HDDs) and built it into my system. I have first formatted the HDD I already had, then configured my BIOS for use of RAID 0. My mobo (MSI...

1. If you are just setting up your computer to have an a regular HDD and Backup HDD, i would think you should be able to set that up by booting onto your computer regularly, go to start, then into My Computer and right clicking on the HDD you want to set as Raid 1.

But if just want that other HDD for Space on your computer, all you had to do was plug it in and there you go... extra space.

Now if your installing windows 7 on the other drive i would find that pointless because you already have it on your first drive unless your putting 2 operating systems onto your computer.

Hope this helps.

I want to do partition of my hard disk.So please help me

You need to partition your hard drive before you install an operating system on it. If you boot off your windows CD and your hard drive has a partition already you will get a screen that prompts you to format it. You can also dellete the partition and make a new partition. AT that time you can select the size of the partition you want to make and creat multiple partitions. If you choose you can creat one smaller partition from the space available for you to format and install windows on and format the rest of the available space later on after windows is installed from the Administration Tools in control panel.

well...you can't have 2 operating systems on the same harddrive...well you can but it's highly not recommended. so what you should do is put in the vista installation disk and do repair, then put the command "FORMAT" then it should format that drive (make sure you have everything saved) once it's formatted, you can then install the xp

Hard drive..

Using SATA, there is no Primary/Secondary Master/Slave connection. Each HDD is connected to One port straight. As for partitioning, you can either use Fdisk or you can boot straight from the Windows CD and create Partitions and load Windows.
