Mcdevito75 here, Many factors figure in the value of a watch, Of course you have a NAME watch Longines which helps a great deal, First, if the hands are thick, the watch is before 1969, if they are thin, anywhere after 1969, Original strap or band conts, a good, good replacement band is ok. the appearance of the watch, no scratches opr buffing, scrapping on the caseing, no scratches or cracks in the crystal (glass) of course being vintage there will be some evidence of age, and lastly time keeping, if your Longines works well keeps time all day, I estmate it"s value, anywhere from $125.00--------- $200.00. You can also check a small watch repair shop in your area or jewelery shop, they will usually give a rough estmate of value for free.

Find out if a watch i have is worth money

Check to see if your watch or one closely resembling it, is for sale on Ebay. This generally gives an idea of value, at least in terms of resale and value. Watches, other than Rolex and very high end types, don't have very good resale value. Of course, all of the value may be in the diamonds or 14K cases, no matter who is the maker.

Value/ year made

The year made cannot be determined from the SN. Since the '50s Bulova used a 2 character date code, usually below the SN. The letter is the decade, the number is the year. For example, M4 is 1964, N6 is 1976, O5 is 1985, etc. As to value, if it is from 1960 through 1976 (M0 thru N6) it is a "true" Accutron, with a tuning fork movement, is collecrible and valuable, and the actual value depends on which specific movement and which case. Some 1977 (N7) Accutrons are akso collectible rtuning fork watches, but some 1977s are Bulova's first quartz watches, and of no value. Bulova eventually went mostly automatic (self-winding mechanical movement) with their Accutron line. Those are well-made, mid to upper-mid level watches, and of no particular value beyond that of most any good used automatic. Note, however, that there have been numerous versions of the automatic Accutrons, some fancier and nmore expensive than others, and, s ith any good watch, original cost will have an effect on value as a used watch. For example, that retailed at, say, $500 new in 2009 will be worth more today than one that was $250 new in 2009 (assuming comparable condition). There are also now some Accutron IIs, which mimic, in looks and the sweep second hand, the original tuning fork Accutrons. However, while they are well-made watches, they are just another nice quartz watch.

Value for 28116BK

about $100.

Lucien Piccard is a brand with distant Swiss heritage, which now has the same address as Invicta, SWI group, Stuhrling/Akribos and World of Watches. Asian manufacture and always a deep "discount" from list price. This isn't to say that they don't have some great looking watches, only intended as a bit of background to the company.

I wonder what a tag heuer wk1112 is worth and is it any point and get innsurense for it. it has not been yust seens it was given to my dad years ago for long and true service?? please give me an onest...

You can get a new one from a reputable seller online for about $900....so I would put a market value of approx $700 or so for yours (considering it has traded hands at least once - when your father acquired it). In my opinion unless you get an automatic Tag Heuer watch, which hold up their value much better and cost more too, there is no point in getting theft/damage insurance on this watch.

If you do end up getting a good discounted premium from a reputable insurance company that will not flinch when it comes to paying up, then maybe there is value in buying it.

Hope this helps.

If it is too good to be true, then it probably isn't.

Don't reply to these sort of messages as it only encourages them, as you might get hooked into parting with money and getting nothing in return.

How find serial number on ~1910 hamilton pocket watch?

The serial number is usually engraved on the movement. If you open the back of the watch, you should be able to see it.

I looked at the Hamilton pocket watch site (in might be helpful if you visit the site, simply type "hamiltonpocketwatches.com" into your search engine and your will be able to examine photos of a number of movements).

The position and size of the number varies but it shouldn't take to long to find. One of the pictures I found impossible to see the number but the rest I found, although sometimes you had to look quite carefully.

Im planning to buy the Model AR 4613 and wonder to find out more details about the specification. Do I need to self adjust the week days (SUN, MON, TUE) indicator everyday? My friend who bought the same...

I would not recommend any of Armani watches, as they all have very average quality Chinese or Japanese mass produced movements. Your friends watch is proof to this - it already has broken weekdays calendar part. There is no need to adjust day or date every day, as the watch is designed to do it itself, but it's not always working with those cheap movements. In fact, when buying Armani watch, you are paying for brand name and design - let alone quality. The choice is yours, of course, but for the same amount of money, I would opt out for Tissot mechanical watch. In this case you will get reputable and well known Swiss brand name, Swiss made, assembled and to Swiss standards adjusted movement. And, of course, the whole watch will be made in Switzerland, case, bracelet, dial, glass, hands and even smallest of screws inclusive. No other country can beat Swiss made watches, as their standards for watch making is the highest in the world. At the very end your Tissot watch will make your friend jealous, because you will never have such a problems like broken parts or non-functional calendar e.t.c. Timekeeping will be on the spot as well. If you will look after your watch, your grand-grand-grand-grand children will be able to enjoy it, because mechanical watches are designed to last almost forever. I'm not trying to change your mind or advertise Swiss made watches - just trying to explain what would be the best solution for the amount of money you have. One more thing - the Armani watch you are after will be out of trend in a few years time and will have no value at all, however, Swiss made watches usually have timeless designs and are always keeping very good value even after years of use. In some cases 10 or 20 years old Swiss watch costs a lot more than it was bought when brand new. Hope it helps.

How do you set the time on the Fossil JR8852 LED digital watch? There are two buttons and a push-in socket in the bottom left hand corner, but can't work out how to set watch.

This watch is a true icon of the 70's, and served as one of the milstones representing entry into the space age. Setting of this watch is the same as the original from the 70's, and it appears that Fossil must have obtained the original manufacturing equipment to produce this retro watch (which appears to be identical to the original in all respects, aside from the adjustable band). To set the time, press time button on the top right, while keeeping the time button depressed, use a ball point pen (so 70's) to depress the indented set buton on the bottom left. This will take some finger dexterity to accomplish (obviosly the primary concern of the designer was to prevent accidental resetting of the time, and to this one must say; "mission accomplished"). let go of reset button and use the top right hand button to adjust the hour to the correct time in am/pm (as designated by the lighting of either the top or bottom dot of a colon located between the hour and minute numeral). To set minutes repeat the process but after releasing the set button, use the bottom right button to toggle to the correct minute value. Setting of the date is accomplished by depressing the bottom right date button and then depressing the adjust button at the same time, then toggle the top right button to adjust the day, or the bottom right button to adjust the month. Adjusting this watch is a true finger workout, will challenge your finger dexterity, and offers a true insight into the design priorities of the original engineers of this digital time capsule (one of the early fruits of the computer era).
