Delonghi DEC14 - stuck on pause

We have Delonghi DEC14 dehumidifier that is 18 months old. When you switch it on it always starts with the pause light on for a less than a minute and then gets to work. However, it is now stuck with the pause light permanently switched. Any ideas?

Hi,
a 6ya Repairman can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Repairman (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: icing up on our dehumidifier

typically happens when there is a lot of dust in air. Try cleaning it VERY well, which would mean, shutting it for a few days, letting it melt and dry off, then not only vacuuming it, but then take an air gun (or Air in a can) and get the dust off the coils. Obviously if there is a filter clean it, or replace it.
Check for bent fins on the coil. Most of the newer ones (and yours should as well) have an auto defrost to help with that.
Good luck

SOURCE: My DeLonghi dehumidifier model DE500P is tripping the breake

the motor is tight, (can't turn) lubricate the motor bearings with light machine oil. retest. rust causes this. the motor "tries" to turn, more power is needed, still can't turn, power exceeds safe limits: breaker trips.

I have the same problem. Very annoying. My suggestion is to go to your nearest dealer and throw the unit through their front window.
