Hi, I have just brought a Kingston 1Gb Data Traveller Privicy Edition, I have used it once however now it will not find the Flash Drive and comes up with the following error message: - "Unable to start the DT Secure Privicy Application. Please reinsert your DT Secure Privacy and try again" I have tried this and have tried it on multiple machines without success. Please can you advise if there is any other way I am able to resolve the problem? Thanks

It is not supporting my data traveller of kingston..............

Hello sir,
Welcome to fixya...
There are severel reasons for your data traveller's malfunction.
1) The drivers may be not found by your operating system. (which is unusual and can be solved by dowloading the drivers from your manufacturers website which in your case can be found here)
2) the hardware failure. sometimes the hinge of usb plug on your pen-drive is twisted or damaged due to a sudden ****. so there is nothing you can do for this type of problem. all you have to do is to replace the USB by visiting the vendor from which you bought the drive. Kingston offers free replacement under warrenty.

if this was helpful kindly rate the comment as fixya team works tirelessly to fix your problems and we only earn when you rate. thanx

Maxell 8Gb Venture flash drive not installed correctly on Windows Vista Home Edition - displays as secure 1Gb drive also impossible to write to.

Hi,
If you are given a CD along the flash drive you can try installing the drivers and try back plugging in and using it. That might work.

Double click the file you want to move. When the progam opens the document, Choose"Save As" from the File Menu. When the dialog box opens, navigate to you flash drive. Something like (E):Kingston the choose "Save" Now a copy of your file will be on your Kingston Flash drive.
Double check by opening the flash drive and look for the file.

Windows asking me to format my flash drive

Just format your flash drive! Before you start formatting your flash drive, transfer all data from your flash drive 'cause when you format your flash drive, it will erase all the data. After you have formatted the flash drive, then you can transfer back the data to your flash drive.

Kingston USB key Data Traveler 8GB doesn't work well when more than 512 MB are copied in it. Same problem with different computers (with Windows XP SP2 or SP3). Same problem when formatted with FAT32 or...

If you have not tried this already, go to control panel, click on administrative tools, then double click computer management. In the left pane under computer management, click on disk management.
Make sure your Kingston data disk is plugged in to your usb port. In the right pane you should see your flash disk represented by a white bar with blue line on top. Right-click on the white bar and select "delete partition" Once the partition is deleted, right-click the bar once again and select create partition. Once you have created this partition, you should have the use of the maximum capacity of the flash drive.
