Dell optiplex GX620 desktop has an ethernet port on it, that is not an adapter, I cannot connect to the internet, I downloaded and installed a driver for a wireless ethernet adapter, but that has not...

Okay,..........

1) You can download a wireless Ethernet adapter driver all day, but if you Do Not have a wireless adapter card installed in your computer, the drivers do you no good.

Or if you do not have a wireless USB adapter plugged into a USB port.

Example of a wireless adapter card,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4695358&CatId=2692

Example of a wireless USB device,

Example of an Ethernet adapter card,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=686143&CatId=200

If you are just going to hardwire the computer, just buy an Ethernet adapter card, (PCI version), and install it in your computer, (On the motherboard), in any available white PCI slot.

IF it is the Mini Tower model.

The Desktop, Small Form Factor (SFF), and Ultra Small Form Factor (SFF) computers, are too small in width for a regular size Ethernet adapter card.

They need a Low-Profile Ethernet adapter card,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833114034

This is for a Dell Optiplex GX620 Mini-Tower computer,

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx620/en/ug/A02/mtabout0.htm#wp1051997

Scroll the page down until you come to the bold blue heading - System Board Components
This is an illustration of a Top view of the Mini-Tower's motherboard.

16 and 17 point to two PCI slots.
This is where an Ethernet adapter card that is the PCI version, will plug into.

PCI slots are White in color.
An example of a basic PCI slot, ( 3 are shown),

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCI_Slots_Digon3.JPG

If you do decide to go wireless;

1) Wireless networking operates at half of the speed of wired networking.

A computer that is wired directly to an Ethernet adapter card, is twice as fast on the internet, as a computer that is connected wireless.

2) Make sure your Router is capable of wireless.
Make sure the wireless router has a built-in Modem, or that you have a separate Modem.

[ For DSL.
Phone line connects to Filter. Filter has a place for a telephone cable, and an Ethernet cable.
Ethernet cable connects to Filter, and other end connects to Modem.
Ethernet cable goes from Modem to Wireless router that does not have a built-in Modem.

OR,
Phone line connects to Filter. Ethernet cable from Filter goes directly to wireless router, that has a built-in Modem.

Computer has to have a USB wireless device, or a wireless adapter card, installed.

For additional questions, or to clarify anything I have stated, please post in a Comment.

Need instruction on ethernet adapter

first:
there's no specific network card you should get, although you probably may want to make sure you get one that support fast ethernet and gigabit ethernet. make sure also is pci card (most of them are), the other part depends on your budget, netgear, linksys, dlinks are all great brands but the one you pick doesn't have to be.
check some options here

second:

this is how to install a nic card (network adapter / network card)

Installing Network Card
  • First step is to read the users guide and familiarize yourself with the new card.
  • Power down PC and remove the AC power cord.
  • Open the computer case.
  • Find an available Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) slot on the motherboard and remove slot insert if one exists.
  • Carefully remove the network card from its static-proof plastic envelope, and slide it into the slot.
    • Seat the card in the slot firmly with gentle pressure along the length of the card, especially right about the slot itself.
    • Snugly, screw the card to the computer frame, but do not over tighten.
  • Close the computer case.
  • Plug your computer in and power it up.
2Follow this procedure to verify Windows XP recognizes the new card.
  • Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  • In Category View (vs. Classic View) click Performance and Maintenance.
  • Click "System" icon at bottom of window.
  • Click the Hardware tab.
  • Click the Device Manager button.
  • Double-click Network Adapters.
    • Beneath it should appear the name of your Ethernet card.
  • Next, double click the name of your Ethernet adapter.
    • If the text in the "Device Status" box says "This device is working properly.", then you successfully installed the card and are finished.
    • If the text in the "Device status" box doesn't say "This device is working properly.", then write down on a piece of paper what it says and continue with next step.

How do I install two DUB-100E in my PC? Its say one is already installed. I need another with a different Ip address for testing.

And you need a second address to test because???

Might I recommend Network Magic for your testing, security and sharing network tasks? Free to download and evaluate for 7 days, you can continue to run it with a few features not functioning following the 7 days. It will test and repair beyond your dreams. I liked it so much I paid the couple bucks for the 5 licenses to use the pro version. You may like it too.

Dubbing VCR to DVD

Have you correctly referred to its original instruction manual? If not , try these simple instructions: 1. On the unit, Press the (VCR>>) button until it is illuminated 2. Still referring to the unit, Press the (DUB) button, which is situated in the middle of the (<<DVD) and (VCR>>) dub buttons. these two steps should automatically start a VCR to DVD dubbing. If not please continue to post, but in more detail, so your problem can be more easily interpreted, Thank you.

Dfe-520tx/rtl8139 novell netwrking 4.2 drivers (dos6.22)

This device does not support anything older than Windows 95, DOS 6.x predates that quite a bit. There simply is no support for USB in DOS, sorry for the bad news but as an alternative you can probably pick up some older ISA buss cards (or PCI if you motherboards support them) that do support MS DOS 6.x. If you can't find them locally EBay probably has some. Let us know if we can answer any more questions and please don't forget to rate the posting.
