Hi, im new with the whole computer knowledge but i have done some research seeing as i have this comp as well. just like me your needing to upgrade the comp to be more sufficient and up to par with todays upgrades seeing as this comp is old and prolly got it at Best Buy. but if your going to do some heavy media, gaming etc. i suggest getting a new comp that is up to date with todays changes. only reason why is the video card you require for this comp is a PCI which i have read is the lowest quality and probably soon to be obsolete that many programs dont support anymore. dont get me wrong you can still buy them, but dont expect high quality performance. remember you need a PCI not PCI Express (PCIE) to fit the slot that your motherboard has. ive done alot of searches for PCI video cards, i suggest just to google it or check newegg.com. im still actually looking around myself. im sure if you have this comp your also looking for an inexpensive part. anyways i hope this helped.

my upgrades are:
500 hard drive
60 slave
2g memory

How much power do I need for this board?

Power Supply Calculator,

http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

A) System Type: 1 physical CPU (Processor)
B) Motherboard: High-end desktop (KN1 Extreme)
C) CPU Brand: AMD
4) CPU Socket: Socket 939

5) CPU: Lord only knows. I chose a Processor that uses Up To 89 Watts. AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 2400MHz San Diego 1.35v

6) CPU Utilization TDP: 90% TDP (recommended)
(In otherwords leave alone)

7) Overclock my CPU!: Leave alone
8) RAM: 2 sticks of DDR SDRAM

9) Video Cards;
A) Video Brand: AMD (AMD owns ATI now)
B) Video Card 1: AMD Radeon HD5450
C) Video Card 2, 3, and 4: Leave alone
D) Video Type: Leave alone
E) Physics Processing Units: Leave alone

10) Hard Drives:
A) Regular SATA: 1 HDD

11) Go to Drives;
DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive: 2 Drives

12) Go back up to the right; PCI Cards:
I left alone. Only you know at present, if you are using one, or more of these types of PCI cards.

13) Go to Fans;
80mm / Regular / 2 Fans. (Just guess-timating)

All fields should be entered now. If not make adjustments to what I didn't know. Include in the proper field.

Now go to the bottom right, and click on - Calculate
(Calculate / Reset / Print )

I come up with 265 Watts.

Want to know EXACTLY what hardware is used inside; without opening the computer case?
Use the tiny free program, CPU-Z from CPUID.com

(Can help you download, install, and use, CPU-Z if you need.
I have used CPU-Z for years)

Sylvania SDVD8732 Dual Screen DVD Player - SD/SDHC Cards

AS long as its a newer SD card you will be fine. Stick with name brands like Kingston, Samsung HP etc. Stay way from cheaper cards as they wont work as well.

Video not working on 755Twins-hdtv motherboard.

The option to disable the onboard graphics is in the BIOS.
You need a PCI-express card. You should not be trying to fit any graphics cards into the PCI slot.
The VGA/HDTV conection should have been supplied on a seperate card.

I have a model PS-5301-08HA power supply in my HP computer. I am adding a video card and cannot tell which power lead from the power supply is used for powering a video card. They are bundled together and...

There are two types of video cards, Ones which power themselves for the Slot and other high end ones need to be powered from the supply. Most video cards are provided with a cable like this one.7c6778b.jpg You will need this cable in order to properly connect your video card to the power supply.

Hope this solves your problem.

My 2 year old out of the box Gateway GT5220 boots up as usual but there is no video signal from the onboard video card. No modifications to this unit at all.

After verifying this issue with a second monitor, it would seem a new video card would be in order. As far as I cant tell this model has built in video, often referred to as integrated. therefore replacing the current video component will not work. You will need to install a PCI-E video card. Often referred to as PCI express. This computer has one slot available for a PCI-E card. If that doesnt solve the issue then the problem extends past simply the video signal.

Problem using graphics card

You don't have to order a 'dell' brand power supply, just make sure you replace it with one more powerful with the same connection types... but before you do that, try changing the bios setting from 'auto' and specify the first video device to be the PCI-e, or AGP... depending on the type of card that you're putting in there.

Video card

There is not an external video card on the machine, nor is there any type of card available, just the one on the motherboard. On these models the video card is built into the board. It is replaceable, but requires a fairly good degree of technical knowledge and skill in order to change it. I realize this probably isn't what you want to hear, but there isn't a simple fix to it, sorry. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
