Sounds like you have either a clogged muffler ( carbon and oil residue) or a stopped up spark arrestor screen inside the muffler....remove the muffler and scrape the gunk out of the inside and clean the screen....while the muffler is off try starting the machine and see if it runs properly...if it does then you know it's the muffler !!! Hope this helps ;-D

Hello my cpi Aragon GP 125. Model 2012 when been on a run sometimes the carb spits petrol back through the air filter.l have to disconnect the air filter to empty it, then it will start again.??

Hi, Bryan spitting is usually caused by a faulty accelerator pump and or nozzle, or the float bowl needle and seat leaking and overflowing through the main jet mixing well nozzle, or the air-fuel mixture screw is set to lean. Bike runs spits fuel when rpms build

the fuel petcock diaphram might need to be repaled. or gasket that is from gas tank to fuel shutoff valve could be bad.

Hs45 backfires spits

Sounds like an over fueling issue, Try resetting the carb to its standard settings, screw both tuning screws right in ant then turn anticlockwise to the following settings H 3/4 of a turn. L 1 full turn. This should set it back to standard. If this doesn't help then it could be a carb diaphram or sticking needle.

I got a 95 big bear and i got a problem with a rough idle and back fires

If it's been sitting around for a while it could be the idle jet has a little craip in it (it don't take much) but if it's spitting fuel out then I would make sure the float levels aren't sticking.

2003 dyna always need to run with choke on sputs and spits at 1500 rpm

Either your carburetor needs cleaning inside or you have a severe vacuum leak. If the bike has been allowed to sit up for a while, the fuel in the float bowl evaporates and leaves behind a gummy residue that plugs up the jets and will not allow fuel through them. The "choke" is actually an "enricher" circuit and it draws fuel directly from the float bowl. By adjusting the "choke", you can get the bike to run. Or, you may have a vacuum leak. There is a hose that runs from the backside of the carb to the VOES switch and the petcock. It may be leaking but it's doubful as if it were you wouldn't have enough vacuum to open the fuel petcock on the fuel tank. I'd suspect either the manifold to carburetor seal where the carb plugs into the intake or the intake to head mounting gaskets. When you take the carb off to clean it, that would be the time to go ahead and pull the intake and replace those gaskets and the intake seal. Make sure you get the intake properly aligned when you put it all back on or you'll wind up with yet another vacuum leak.

Good Luck

Old '87 ranger been sitting in folks yard few years. fires up fine, but spits and sputters going down the road

Old fuel in tank, fuel filter clogged, plugged/clogged carb. or fuel injectors.

1. Drain fuel from tank and replace with new fuel with SeaFoam or Lucas

2. Repace fuel filter

3. With engine running at a high idle and air cleaner off, spray or pour carb/fuel injection cleaner into carb/fuel injectors.

If problems persist, check plug wires for cracks and/or breaks. Pull spark plugs checking for fouling.

Tractor won't run

If it is spitting black smoke, it is getting too much fuel. Try taking off bottom of carb assembly to get at the float. Make sure that the float doesn't have a hole in it and that the needle is in place

Spitting and sputtering

mine did the same, I found out that the high speed jet was clogged, I pulled the fuel line off the filtor(going to the carb), stuck the line into a mixture of half gas half carb cleaner, I fanned it up and in 2 or 3 minutes it started running well, hope this helps.
