Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook
Get into command prompt and type ipconfig and check the ip address. If ip address is 169. You need to reinstall the OS. Please display the model number of your laptop.

You can try these things if haven't yet. Make sure the adapter is turned on. Find out if your wireless router is putting out a signal. In My Network Places network tasks run Windows setup wireless network wizard. In Network Connections right click the wireless adapter and see if it is enabled.
