It will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

Yes, take the rack out and recycle it. I do not know why these micro-wave company put racks in the micro wave ovens. You get some insulation on the inside the micro flaking off next the rack.

The mega-tron tube is a very high energy transmitter. The energy will come out of the top inside the micro wave oven in a wave guide. Micro wave energy that generation by the tube is high frequency into Gega Hertz. You have a metal tray in side the micro wave acts like a big capacitor it stores energy in form of heat the next you know it look like Marconi is putting on a lighting display.

Leave the wire tie on a loft of bread and put in you micro wave oven to defrost. The next thing you might see is a load bread burning, instant toast. ----The use of micro wave were invented by the British before WWII. The mega tron tube generation very high frequency radio wave and these wave struck an object 100 miles away some of this beam energy would balance back to a receiver-----You have Radar.... The top of the oven (inside) has blistered and the rollers are marking the base. Also the oven is making a noise as the plate rotates.

If the oven is working with good heat all you need is to have the machine serviced. the ceramic coating of paint on the inside of the microwave must have corroded and so the blisters can happen. Due to this the smooth surface within is lost and so the roller make a higher noise.
Take the micro wave and clean and scrap off all blisters before a good coat of ceramic/nonmetalic paint is used.

My sisters has a Sharp microwave r-403hw was manufactured july 2003 my question is how long are you allowd to keep a microwave for and if the inside chips from the paint is still ok to cook food in it or...

As long as the microwave oven is working to heat or cook according to the program set , the micro wave can be used safely. Now if there is any chipping of the paint within the oven chamber, then you can re-coat the inside with non conducting ceramic paint.
However if there is no issue if there is no damage to the inside or to the working of the microwave as you can use the oven till it fails to heat.

The inside of my micro wave has discolored and has some rust spots right through the paint. Can I use a high gloss enamel spray paint to cover this or do I need a special kind of paint for this...

Not regular enamel paint.

The area may first have to be sanded smooth, but it should at least be cleaned and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

I have a GE Microwave Oven/Dual Element Browner Model # JES1288SHO3. The inside cabinet is arching through the wave guide panel. DAVE IN LA.

Hi Dave in LA,

The wave gude cover is replaceable, the part number is1085082. The reason for arcing through is typically a splatter of food stuck to the cover and then the heating waves overcooked or burned it. Carefully replace the cover (panel), look for any burned spots behind the cover, if the wave guide is burned through, the Microwave is unrepairable. If the waveguide has small arc spots you can carefully clean (sandpaper) and use touchup paint to recoat. I hope this helps and if it does, please let us know!

I have a GE spacemaker. It releases electric volts when is turned on . Needs to be changed or can be repaired?

Hi,

Do you mean "sparks" inside the oven cavity when it is operating ?

If so, check for grease spots on the wave guide cover or scratches on the oven liner. Scratches can be touched up with touch up paint and wave guide cover`s can be replaced.

Hope that help`s, good luck.

Arcing inside and there is now a small hole on the panel side. Is this fixable?

Hi,

It looks like there's lightning (arcing) inside my microwave When you see arcing inside your microwave, it's because of food or liquid left in the cavity or on the wave-guide cover:

  • If the wave guide has any burn spots, replace it and clean the unit well.

  • If the cavity has any burn spots, spot-sand it smooth and touch it up with microwave interior paint.

Note… If there are any burn holes in the cavity, don't use the unit-seek help from a qualified appliance repair technician.

Thanks for contacting Fixya

My microwave oven has are rust spots;can I paint over them?

Yes, you can paint over the spots and no, it's not dangerous. I'd let the paint thoroughly dry before using the oven -- it could otherwise cause paint to buckle/ripple/etc.

Paint damaged in side microwave oven

1) How is the cavity damaged? Is it just peeling paint, or is it rust? If it's rust then the microwave could be dangerous.

2) The antenna cap usually has a small hole in the centre, but if there are any other holes in it the magnetron itself could be damaged, and holes caused by the magnetrin arcing.
