Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

Open Question

My Wii remote is only partially working. It seems I've lost the arrow that I need in order to point to the screen. I've tried changing batteries and re-syncronizing it with the console but still no arrow. I can scroll left or right reset go to home and everything else but the arrow.

i have this exact same problem. It was working fine a few days ago and now the wiimotes are not giving me the ability to point at things. I can use the + and - keys to scroll the screens, home to open that menu and shut down with the wiimote, i just can't point! I did plug in the original controller and it popped up and worked for a little bit but then died.. i don't get it. i've searched and googled but can't find any answers but I know this is not a unique problem.

SOURCE: Wii Remote Control Stopped Working

This happened to my son. I did some reading and found out you have to resynchronize the remote. This is from the manual
1) Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
2)Remove th battery cover on the back of the remote and press the SYNC. button inside the cover. The Player LEDs will blink.
3)Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment
4)When the Player LED blinking stops, connection is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number.
This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii remote added to your system.

This worked for me, hope it helps you.

I have tried programming my wii remote but it won't work. I pressed both the sync buttons, but all it does is flash on all 4 dots and then quits. I've changed the batteries in both remotes, as...

Here's what to do. I've had this happen many times.

1. Open up the SD Card compartment on the Wii.

2. Open up the battery cover on the remotes.

3. Press the red Sync button on the Wii, and then on one of the remotes.

4. Repeat for whatever remotes need synced.

This will make every remote act like the P1 remote. For temporary syncing, just go into the Home Menu and click Wii Remote Settings. Click on another option(it'll say to press 1 and 2) and follow the instructions.

  1. How to Reset Your Wii Remote

    • 1 First you will need to check a few things, just to make sure what the actual problem is.
*Check to see that all cords are properly plugged in.
*Make sure the sensor bar is properly center above or below your tv set.
*Make sure that nothing is blocking the signal to the sensor bar.
*Make sure that the batteries in the remote are in good working order.
*Make sure that there are no wireless devices close by that might be interfering with the signal.
    • 2 If after all this the remote is still not working then it probably needs to be re-synced.
    • 3 Turn off and unplug your wii console for a few minutes.
    • 4 *Turn the power back on and when you see the the safety screen open the small flap on the front of the wii console. Inside you will find the red sync button. Press and hold the red button down for 15 seconds.
      * Then remove the battery cover from the wii remote, inside you will see another red button.
      * Press and release the red button, the blue lights on the remote will start blinking.
      * Quickly press and release the red sync button on the wii console.
      * The remote will stop blinking and it should now be synced.

The 55ux600u toshiba hdtv has a setting that needs to be changed with the wii in order to get color.
1. Click 'Menu' on the TV remote 2. Arrow over to 'Preferences' 3. Arrow down to 'AV Connection' 4. Click 'OK' 5. Arrow down to 'AV Input' 6. Change setting from 'ColorStream HD' to 'Video' by clicking the right arrow. 7. Hit the'Exit' button on the TV remote.
This will give you color for your Wii. You will have to change this setting back in order to view DVDs in color. :-)

Try moving closer to the TV. Where the remote is pointing only works within a certain distance so try moving closer while waving the remote back and forth across your TV.

Trying to install wii

I love the way this works - if everything is plugged in properly, the remote control will be detected by the sensor and you should see an arrow on the screen that you can move by physically moving the remote. Use this to point the arrow to "English", then click "A", then move it again to "confirm" (...or is it "OK"?).
