SOURCE: Oven light flickers on and off rapidly

I have seen several problems with the touch pad (membrane switch assembly) causing weird problems with the lights. also something to check is the door hinges. I have seeen several cases where the door hinges wear out and the door does not close completely and doesnt quite push the door switch in. The easiest way to check this possibility is to push in on the door while the light is acting up and see if it quits. If it doesn't, the problem most likely lies in the mebrane switch (touch pad). Good Luck!

Stove will not turn off CHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately. ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

Where is the control board?

If you are speaking of the relay board, it's in the top of the oven, right behind the touch pad control panel. Otherwise, when you see the control panel, that is also referred to as the control board.

Electronic Relay Control

Good Afternoon C, error code F20 does indicate part replacement on the ESEC-UIB (User Interface Control), located behind the console on the side of the actual display. I would recommend, however, running a quick test to ensure that this is not a false error code. You do this by resetting your oven by flipping the breaker or unplugging the unit for approximately ten minutes. If resetting the unit does not correct the issue, please reach out to an expert technician to ensure the appropriate replacement part is ordered and is installed correctly to prevent future issues. I hope this information helps to some degree - thanks for your question, and please do not hesitate to reconnect.

Do I have to pull the whole double oven assembly out of the wall to gain access to the upper oven power relay board? MCS230S

On some ovens you have to pull the oven out of the cavity and remove the top panel of the oven to get access to the electronic timer control. On other ovens you only have to remove the panel which is behind the timer without removing the whole thing. Just slide it out a bit and have a look at the panel behind the timer.

The oven is GE JKP15,about 10 years old. Error: F7 - Keeps beeping. Turned on brakers, but it starts beeping again when the braker is turned on.

this code means either a stuck control pad or a faulty control board/display board... one thing to try is turn power off again at breaker and run your hand over all the keys on the control panel firmly pressing each key sometimes you can luck out and free it up if that is the problem and reset power if it starts again you will have to gain access behind the control panel and unplug the ribbon cable to control panel.... if it stops after you unplug ribbon cable most likely it is a bad touch pad assembly if it continues you most likely have a stuck relay on the control board and will need to replace that... i have see the fault require both the touch pad and control board ,but hopefully this will help you ..i assure you it is one of the 2 problems ... g.e servicer for 18 years now and a common problem most of the time happens after a long cooking period or a self clean was preformed recently...

HI. The necessary actions will be to have the main control board replaced, asap. This is a watch dog circuit failure. When this circuit in the control sector fails, you will not be able to shut off the unit, via, control button. This circuit controls the power relay, which is the basic on/off circuit.

Once you have replaced the main control board, your unit will function at a normal capacity.

Double oven, the top ovens lower heating eliment will not work-I have relaced it and tried the lower ovens eliment still nothing, the broiler(upper)eliment works fine?

There are some small relays on the circuit board in the area of the controls. These relays are undersized and normally fail shortly after the warranty period. If you are handy with electical work and a soldering iron you can replace the components on the board using standard items from Radio Shack. If not, then buy the circuit board but expect to pay a lot. I once fixed a friend's oven and broiler by putting a low voltage optical semiconductor relay from Radio Shack into the space of each failed mechanical relay. Then I used those to operate large 40A definite purpose contactors -- normally used in HVAC systems. This required addition of a 24vac power transformer. All of it fit easily into the space behind the control panel of her drop-in range. The beauty of the optical semiconductor relays is that they isolated the electrical system of the original circuit board from the additional parts I was supplying. This makes is easy for anyone who works on it later to see the nature of the upgrade/repair.

Message panel keeps flashing F10 error

Code F-10 indicates a temperature runaway. There are two possible problems. 1) The oven temp sensor has failed. This can be checked using a standard multimeter. The sensor is located behind the rear access panel of your oven. The sensor should read about 1100 ohms at room temperature. 2) The oven control board needs to be replaced. There are no FRU's (field replaceable units) on the control board. Check the sensor first. Even a new control board is cheaper than a new oven.
