I need to upload from my video camera (model GR-D370U) to my computer but I do not have the software. Where can I obtain this?

When I try to capture video to PC using either USB or DV cord I always get the message "Device Installation Failed". What am I doing wrong? I have the camcorder in "play" mode and video mode.

Hi Heidi.

Be sure your camera is on when you have connected it to your PC. Then you have to put it in Play mode and rewind the tape if it's a USB cable you connect with. Start Windows Movie Maker and test.

The following link could be useful http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/getstarted/default.mspx

Best regards
Estanislao

I don't think you can transfer video through USB. I am not sure, but it would be much easier to buy a firewire card ($30), and then get a DV cable. This is what I use, and it works well.
