Check that the video plug (the yellow one) is firmly connected to the correct port on the back of your television set. Make sure that the video card port on your television matches up with the audio ports your game system is currently plugged in to, e.g. make sure if your audio is going to Audio 1, that your video also goes to Video 1 and not Video 2.

Big black box while trying to play movies

Hello there, sorry to hear about your issue. Usually this indicates that someone has hit the CLOSED CAPTION button or possibly the PIP (picture in picture) button on the TV remote. There is nothing wrong with the xbox, it is actually a setting on your TV. Check the remote to see how you can disable closed captions.

Log in to your XBox live account and sign up to return your box for service. Even if it is out of warranty Microsoft has been fixing them for free including covering shipping. Our box just went through, took 11 days total.

Try changing your televisions input.

There should be a button for this on the front of the tv and on the remote.
Try changing the input while the unit is plugged in and turn on, that way you can check every input number.

Good Luck. Hope this works for you.

Leapfrog leapster hand held console

Had the same problem and no target. Wait after it says touch the center of the target for at least 5 minutes maybe longer and suddenly it will beep and appear. After touching each of the 5 targets as they move from corner to corner and then center the stylus and touch screen once again worked.
