Do you know how to do the software reset of the microprocessor on a harman kardon 340 receiver? I looked at my manual all I found was the processor reset info that I tried already with no luck.

Hi! The rca output may be faulty causing it not to give sound to the speakers. If that will be the problem then you will have to have it replaced for it to work again. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Hi,

If you bought the extended warranty, you need to go where you purchased it and they can look it up on their computer system.

Is the speakers defective, or not present (connected), check all cables

Thanks.

Hi

In normal stand by mode the power indicator should be amber, in power on mode blue and red in protection mode. When you mention memory reset you mean Processor Reset? If not I suggest you do that. Here is the way. To clear the AVR 340’s entire system memory including
tuner presets, output level settings, delay times and speaker configuration data, first place the AVR in Standby Mode, and then press and hold the Tone Mode button for three seconds.
If the receiver still doesn't work correctly, try doing a software reset of the microprocessor.
The procedure is different for each model, and can be found by downloading the owner's manual on the product page or support page for the model.
The procedure is usually described toward the back of the manual on the same page
as the troubleshooting guide. Remember that the processor reset erases all of your configuration settings, and you will have to reenter them just as you did the first time you set up the receiver. If your receiver is functioning correctly some of the time or for some inputs or features only. It is recommended that you reread the owner's guide, especially the sections on first-time installation and system configuration. Many times it is possible to correct a problem simply by changing a setting in one of the receiver's menus.

Check whether the speakers are defective or not. Check your speaker wire connections to make sure no bare wires or strands are touching more than one terminal.
If you still have problems then please check the bellow link to contact the customer care…

HOW TO RESET HARMAN KARDON AVR70

Hi, Try this. Hope this helps and I have the link here to the manual.
Processor Reset
If the AVr behaves erratically after a power surge, first turn off the front-panel
main
power switch and unplug the Ac power cord for at least 3 minutes. plug the cord back
in and turn the AVr on. If this procedure doesn't help, reset the AVr's processor as
described below.
note: resetting the processor will erase all user configurations, including speaker and
level settings, and tuner presets. After a reset, reenter all of these settings from your
notes in the Appendix worksheets.

To reset the AVR's processor:

1. press the front-panel Standby/on switch to place the unit in the Standby mode (the
Standby Indicator led will turn amber).
2. press and hold the front-panel Standby and memory/folder buttons until the reSet
message appears on the front-panel message display.
3. press the memory/folder button again to reset the AVr's processor.
If the AVr does not function correctly after a processor reset, contact an authorized
harman
kardon service center for assistance.

Harman Kardon AVR 500 Only works in NON-Surff mode ?

This is a good indication that the surround processing section has a problem. This can be anything from a supply voltage being missing to a defective processing IC. Without testing inside the unit, it wil be difficult to determine. With surround procesing turned off, the entire section is bypassed. This is why standard stereo mode sounds OK. The static sound is digital noise and can be poor processing or a bad D/A converter IC.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Hi, i am having problems with the multiroom on my AVR 630

Go into your OSD (on screed display).

Go to multiroom.

Change the SB AMPS from MAIN to MULTI.

Make sure you have only analogue sources, it will not amplify digital inputs for the MR.

Harmon kardon 745 displays "unlock" no sound for tv or movies

I also had this UNLOCK message on my Harman Cardon AVR 130.
The reason for this error was - in a hurry I've plugged the optical input into optical OUT! Double check that your connections in the back are correct and hopefully it fixes your problem.

Cheers,

AVR 7000 audio/video receiver

Harman kardon amplifire are known for that.specially AVR 7000
but sometimes this comes from poor wiring and using a wire that will not conduct better sound. Remember your wiring is very important.you may think your wiring is currect, better to double check. even if your connection is ok and the wire you are using are not better to produce quality sound you will not get sound from every speaker.

good luck
