Problem for Sony VAIO SR5K PC Notebook

Sony VAIO PCG-SR5K Audio Driver from Sony Website does not install.

I had to re-install Windows 2000 in my Sony VAIO PCG-SR5K and downloaded the drivers from the Sony Website. All the drivers installed with the exception of the audio driver - when installation starts it stops and says that my computer does not have the hardware for that driver. Does anybody have the original driver? Is the Sony driver intentionally faulty? Any help will be appreciated.

- the system just said "unknown device" - got tired of trying to fix the 'ol piece of junk, got a hammer and it is now in the trash can. Will never buy a Sony machine again - read about many users experiencing the same problem with their drivers - apparently it is Sony's way to get you to send the machines to them and charge you an arm an a leg for any repair - bye bye Sony!

Yo tengo una Sony VAIO PCG-SR5K, y mi problema es recien instale Windows 2000, pero desgraciadamente se me perdieron los drivers. Actualmente no tengo sonido de multimedia, en realidad la maquina si emite sonido al encender, pero nada mas. Por favor necesito que me orienten que debo hacer. Muchas gracias

you'll need to check the actual audio device under control panel, device manager, to find what driver you'll need.
