Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello,

This means your MAC is having a kernal panic, which could be caused by a failed update, a driver or program that is incompatible. You may need to start your MAC with your system cd/dvd and run the disk checker to repair hard drive errors and file permission errors.

I'm not sure what OSX version you are running but you could also try the steps outlined in this apple knowledge base:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8965.html

If this does nothing, you will need to take it into a apple store for servicing, or reinstall the OS (you may loose your programs and data depending on how your reinstall)

Network problem Mac Powerbook 1.67

I am going to do two things, here.

1.Solve your problem
2.Suggest a program I highly recommend which will prevent your problem's reoccurence, though I have absolutely no financial interest in the latter, but have used it when problems like this occurred and it has proven itself to be the only way I know to properly administer a home network of up to 8 nodes with minimal difficulty.

First, the solution, since your previous addition of a router, which you removed, very likely consumed and still consumes an allocation of memory reserved for it, which your mac PB can no longer address, as it once could.

Start from scratch and rebuild your network, running whatever setup procedures established the relationship between the nodes.

Next: Google Network Magic, download the free version to try out, and if you like it, buy the program which probably currently sells for about $50.00, fully configured. There is also a Mac version which will assist your mixed network needs.

Whenever I open Word (text document) message appears...

Download the free OpenOffice suite, it is open source and is capatible with all of MS office programs. And you won't have the framework issue...

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I uploaded illustrator files that I downloaded from the internet and now the files are [converted] alias. and they wont open, or respond. HELP

An alias is simply a file that points to another file. It is not the actual file. I suspect that if you are connected to the internet, they might work.

Or download them again and this time choose to open the file and then save them from with in illustrator to your desk top

Stickies

There are two different Post-It like programs for Mac. One is for use in your Dashboard only, the other is for your desktop.
Go to your Applications folder and look for "Stickies", if it's there then all you'll have to do is click it to turn it on or drag it to your Dock to give yourself a shortcut (a Dock based shortcut not the same as an "alias").
If you have managed to delete the program "Stickies" from your Applications folder, you can use your Mac OS X disk to replace it, or you may also copy it from another Mac.
For more direct help you may contact me by phone.
