Question about Radio Shack 21-1926

1 Answer

I need info about the Radio Shack two way radio #21-1935. Can't find a manual. How long should it last with a rechargeable battery. I used a Uniden BP38. Is that recommended? Why did it fail after 2 hours? Thanks.

Ranglo - Thank you! I couldn't find that anywhere. Do you know anything about the battery problem I'm having? The Uniden BP38 lasts less than two hours and Uniden says it's for "recreational" use and doesn't need to last longer. (MY recreation lasts way longer than that.) They also said it has to be charged for 16 HOURS before EACH use! Could this be? Thanks again. The manual really helps.

Your RAdio Shack store can help you order one. You can use the black holder, but cannot recharge batteries in the radio.

Radio shack walkie talkie 21-1914 replaced batteries will not charge

Hi pearl,

A simple problem to solve at last!!!

Inside the battery compartment you should find a switch, which indicates Recharge/Normal, make sure you select recharge if your using these batteries, otherwise no charging occurs.

If this does not work, take out the recharchables and select normal on switch, place fully charged normal batteries into the compartment, making sure you put them in the right way around, close the flap and turn on the radio, if this works, then your battery switch is faulty, however, you can get lithium ion batteries, which will last longer than most other high duty batteries.

The cost of getting these radios is not worth the money, unless you are technically minded and buy the repacement switch and repair it yourself.

Otherwise try all of the above, and remember, when charging batteries that are rechargeable, never leave the radio on, as this can wear out your batteries quickly.

I hope this advice is helpful to you.

Best regards,
Peter

Owner manual

Its a dual trunking scanner which usually means either Uniden or Radio Shack.

Radio Shack has an area on their site where you can download manuals for almost all of their scanners and Uniden may have that as well online.

Bearcat is Uniden by the way who actually makes the Radio Shack units. On Radio Shack you may find a manual similar to the model if a Uniden unit.

Also if you have not tried it GOOGLE the brand and model number with "manual".

What type batteries does the home patrol scanner use

It uses four AA NiMH rechargeable batteries. Need the manual? You can download it, at no cost, here:

Radio Shack Catalog # 21-1926 FRS radio manual needed. Else tell me if I can change channels 1 - 7 to LO power out. Suspect they are hard coded for HI power out.

Hello,
In short channels 1-7 and channels 15-22 are GMRS channels are not supposed to be operated by anyone that does not have a GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) license issued by the FCC. They automatically run on high power. Channels 8-14 are FRS (Family radio Service) and can be used by anyone and are set to run on Low Power. The power is not adjustable with this radio. So now for the manual. Uniden made this radio for Radio Shack. So this manual is for the same radio only with the actual Uniden name. Same exact physical radio same exact manual. http://www.uniden.com/pdf/GMR1038-2om.pdf
