Toshiba Tecra 9000 WiFi

I was given a Tecra 9000 and want to use it to connect to the internet with a wireless router already installed on my desktop (with DSL). Can the Tecra 9000 do this? Or do I need to buy a wireless card/adapter? Everything I've found online indicates that the Tecra 9000 has built-in WiFi, but even with the WiFi switch on, nothing is happening.

Okay, so I had to switch to classic view to find the Wireless Connection icon, but then what? It brings up a wizard to set up wireless network, which I did, but then what?

Sorry for being such a rookie...

Make sure your wifi button/switch is turned on. It should automatically find and connect. You may have to put in the security key. Also you can go to Start-> My network places, on left set up wireless network. It will walk you thru it.

My toshiba tecra 9000 has no drivers for ethernet controller ,vga i cant also configure for wireless lan

You may need to download the drivers from a computer that has Internet access and then copy them to an USB flash memory stick. Then copy and install the drivers on the Toshiba notebook.
You can download any/allthe Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from the ToshibaWEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptopso you can get the correct drivers. How to go wireless on laptop

You need three things
1) An Internet service provider. Once you sign up and agree to pay the fee they will provide the internet service.
2) A wireless router. This is a unit that receives your internet service by through a connection to your telephone line. Then it transmits a radio signal (wireless signal) that your laptop can receive.
3) A Wifi card in your laptop or an external USB Wifi Dongle. This is a radio or wireless receiver that picks up the signal from your router.
The router is usually security protected with a keycode. All you need to do is set up your Wifi card or dongle with the same keycode and you will be able to receive the internet wirelessly.
To check to see whether your laptop has a Wifi card already installed, do the following:
Click Start>Programs>Accessories>Communications>Network Connections> and look for "Wireless Network Connection." If you have this, then your computer has a Wifi card installed and ready to go.

I got a Toshiba Tecra 8200 and can't connect wifi at my home. Any suggestions?

Hi,
You have to know if the WiFi at home is “N” Network...
What you have in your Toshiba is “G”...
You will have to buy an “N” wireless USB Adapter…

Cant get wifi massage saying code28 no drivers

Windows WiFi Fix,
Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.
Windows XP:
Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Bought a toshiba satel laptop and want to router it to dell dimen

You don't need a router for the laptop it has a wireless card in it already, buy a router for your home PC and I would buy a linksys with cap 5 network cables and wireless connections so you can use the printer off of the home computer PC. If you have high speed Internet you can request for a router for free with a wireless and cap 5-cable capacity.

"tv out" didn't work

Just to make it clear for me . . .

You connect your Tecra with some cble to a TV, and you can't get a picture to a TV.

Please check first the following:

- Do you use a proper cable for it?
- Is your TV set to an externel source input (AV1, AV2 etc.) ?
- Do you have installed all necessary drivers for your Tecra ?
- Can you check in your driver settings if TV is enabled ?

How to do this:
Right-click on Desktop, then click Properties, or
go to Control panel, and open 'Display',
then click Settings Tab (to top-right) and then Advanced Tab(bottom-right). Here you should find settings for your display adapter.

Regards.

Wifi connection

Hello. The wifi switch should be on as indicated by the light beside it. Please press on Start-Connect to  - then select a wireless network then click Connect. If you are asked for the password, please enter it. Click on Open Network and Sharing Center to check if there is a red x mark between the network and the internet or between the network and the computer icons. If there is none, please launch your internet explorer. Hope this works. Thanks.
