Question about Lexmark X1270 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The X1270 was working fine but the black ink was running out. I replaced the black cartridge and it won't print and says there is no printer cartridge. I even put the old one back in to see if I could clear the no cartridge thing and it still won't print. If anyone knows what the problem might be, I would appreciate hearing from you.
I had a very similuar problem. When I removed the tape from the new cartiage it seemed to come off with no problem but i found that was still a small pice of tape covering the print head. Check to see that there is not a pice of tape covering the contacts on the cartiage or carriage. The other thing is to make surethe retaining bar does click in place if not it will print eraticialy some yes colors or the black ink won't work.

As suggested a couple of minutes ago, with a fresh cartridge installed, disconnect power (unplug) and let the unit rest for an hour or so and then reconnect it.
This may clear an internal error register.
