Question about KitchenAid Superba Architect KSCS25INSS Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Our Kitchenaid superba kscs25INSSOO ice maker not working. The fill tube is not frozen and the solenoid valve is fine too. I got the fridge to fill the ice tray by temporarily connecting (doesn't fit) the signal connector from the water fill switch to the ice fill solenoid then pressing the ice dispenser arm. The ice tray is now full of ice but will not empty into the ice bin. The ice maker control light blinks twice. One long blink and a short blink. Any suggestions?

The ice control board has failed. They are easy to replace but cost about a $100 usually. Here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/sxsiceboard.html

Why isn't my KitchenAid Refrigerator ice maker not filling with water?

Hi,

I would look into a replacement ice maker part number W10469286. This should correct the production issue you have. Your ice maker has to send power to the water valve open and allow water to the mold. If it doesn't cycle or call for water its a ice maker issue. Good Luck

I hooked up my refrigerator and the ice maker is not working.it's a kitchen aid superba kscs251

First make sure your water valve is working . If so , look for fill tube that fills ice maker to be frozen. If it is frozen , unthaw tube. If its not then replace the ice maker.

Icemaker not making ice

Fill the ice maker with a cup of water manually. If it doesnt make ice the next day then replace the ice maker. if it does replace the solenoid after you have check that you have water going to the valve (good hard pressure) and the tube behind the frig that feed the water to the icemaker is not blocked with frozen water.

My water valve, ( a three solenoid) went haywire, I changed it and now it will not fill the ice maker, but I get water to the door just fine, I double checked my lines, all are right, what should I check...

The next thing to check would be to remove the line from the inlet valve that goes to the ice maker and blow into the line. Make sure the line is clear if you cant blow through it check your fill tub to make sure its not frozen. You could also try switching the wire harnesses for the solenoids (if they are both the same) and then call for water through to door (which in turn should fill your ice maker if you switched the harnesses) Then you would know that the valve is operating properly.
Hope this helps _MJ_

Kitchenaid Icemaker does nothing. Ref. Mod.kscs25Inssoo

This also happened after I changed the water filter. The small black rubber tube that fills the tray was plugged with ice. Instead of hot wash cloths I used a hair drier for a couple of minutes.

No ice

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

No Ice From Kitchen Aid

Mark, your water valve has screwed the pooch. Replace it. The part number is 2199838.

What's happening is this... the valve that fills your ice maker is by-passing a small amount of water. This water has to flow through that tube, right? When very small amounts (drop by drop) go through the IM fill tube, they flash freeze. Eventually they (the frozen drops of water) form a big block of ice inside the fill tube. This ice creates a blockage which creates back-pressure whenever the IM "calls" for water. The back pressure eventually blows the tube off of the connection behind the fridge.

You say that this happened over night... no way. If you look closely at the ice cubes that you IM has been making, you'll see that they are hollow. Hollow cubes means that your IM isn't getting enough water... (because the fill tube is blocked).

Kitchenaid KSCS250SS not producing ice

From my experience, a frozen water line coming into the icemaker indicates a bad water valve/solenoid.

The solenoid is usually located at the bottom of the rear of the unit.

The icemaker arm could be a culprit if it was detached somehow, and was really in the stop mode. But, that would not cause the ice build up in the water tube.
