Aztek, Rendezvous 2001-2005 Window Systems - Power Windows Removal & Installation

  1. Position the window in the full down position.
  2. Remove the trim panel.
  3. Remove the water deflector.
  4. Remove the outer belt sealing strip.
  5. Remove the window weatherstrip.
  6. Loosen the bolts to the clevice clamps.
  7. Remove the window from the outside of the door.
To install:
  1. Position the window between the inner and the outer door panels.
  2. For front window, point the lower front corner of the window down and pass through the belt opening. For rear window, point the lower rear corner of the window down and pass through the belt opening.
  3. Align the edges with the window weatherstrip channel.
NOTE Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  4. Turn the window to a horizontal position and align the window with the clevice clamps.
  5. Tighten the clevice clamps bolts to 97 inch lbs. (11 Nm).

2005 Buick Lesabre driver window inoperative

Power Windows Description and Operation
Power Windows System Components
The following components are used to control the power windows:
• Driver Door Module (DDM)
• Passenger Front Door Module (PDM)
• LH Rear Door Module (LRDM)
• RH Rear Door Module (RRDM)
• Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA)
• RH Front Power Window Switch
• LH Rear Power Window Switch
• RH Rear Power Window Switch
• LH Front Power Window Motor
• RH Front Power Window Motor
• LH Rear Power Window Motor
• RH Rear Power Window Motor
• Class 2 serial data circuit
• Power door serial data circuit
• PWR WDO 30 Amp Circuit Breaker
• DRVMDL Fuse (10 amp)
Driver Door Switch Assembly and Driver Door Module logic, Driver Door Module internal driver operation
• PASS MDL Fuse (10 amp)
Front Passenger Door Module logic and internal driver operation
• RRDR MDL Fuse (10 amp)
Left Rear Door Module and Right Rear Door Module logic and internal driver operation
Power Windows Operation
The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. Each passenger door window can be operated, either from a switch built into the driver door switch assembly (DDSA), or from a switch mounted locally to its associated door. The driver door window can be operated only from the driver door window switch built into the DDSA.
When a window is operated from the DDSA, the DDSA interprets the window switch signal as a specific window switch request and sends the information to the driver door module (DDM) via the power door serial data circuit. The DDM examines the request and checks to see if it has received any class 2 serial data messages from any of the other vehicle modules (i.e. ignition switch position) prohibiting the movement of the window. If the window being operated is the driver door window, and if no prohibitive class 2 messages have been received, the DDM then applies voltage and ground to the driver door window motor to move the window glass as requested. If the window being operated is a passenger door window, and no prohibitive class 2 messages have been received, the DDM sends the request, via the power door serial data circuit, to the appropriate passenger door module. The passenger door module then applies voltage and ground to the passenger door window motor to move the window glass as requested.
When a passenger door window is operated from the power window switch mounted locally to its associated door, the passenger door module first checks to see if the DDM has received any prohibitive class 2 serial data messages. If there are no prohibitive messages, the passenger door module powers the associated passenger door window motor.
Both front door windows have the express down feature. This allows the front door windows to be fully opened by momentarily pulling the appropriate window switch lever to the second detente and then releasing.

Did you hook up a scan tool an check for DTC'S in the driver door module ?

DTC B3142, B3147, B3152, or B3157

The switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is wired to either the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) or the passenger door module (PDM). The DDSA or the PDM includes the switch state in the message it sends to the driver door module (DDM) via the power door serial data circuit. The DDM sends the switch message to the rear integration module (RIM), which is the master of all lock operations, as a class 2 message. The RIM checks all conditions and if all conditions are correct, sends its OK to the DDM. When the OK message is received, the DDM sends the required signal to all other door modules via the power door serial data message system.

Power windows wont roll up or down on 2006 Cadlliac cts

With the electronic's involved ,your best bet would be to take to a qualified repair shop . The door 's have electronic control module inside that control door lock's an window operation . Hooking up a professional or factory scan tool an viewing input data an checking DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's would be the first step any professional technician would do . You probably have no idea what these are ? Messing with these systems can render your vehicle unuseable if you do not know what you are messing with .

My power windows won't work in my 2002 jeep grand cherokee

Check the lockout switch for the windows. There is a lockout switch on the drivers door that will turn off all window functions in the car. Even the drivers controls.
Also after you have rulled that out, then try the window switches on each individual door.
If nothing is still working, I would try replacing the drivers switch assembly first. They are known problems. Just pay and change it. Be sure. Life is better this way.
Then change the motors in the doors if this does not cure it.
Also change the power lock motor in the failed door.
This will restore you to normal. Ebay is full of quality parts for your Jeep. I buy mine there on Ebay.

99 chevy blazer lt front passenger window will not work up or down. from either driver switch or passenger switch

Hi: If other windows work then it can't be FUSE. I would take off the door panel and use a 12 volt test light to see if power is getting to the front passenger door motor (make sure power control switches are attached, key on position). If power... then hot wire the window motor using a 12 volt battery to see if it works. Hook + and - wires from battery directly to the motor, reverse them to make motor go up or down. To remove door panel pop electrical control up for the front and lift out then disconnect plugs. Use 7 MM socket to remove 2 screws under where handle is located. A Phillips screw driver removes the door handle cover. Pull on door panel to pop off, whole process takes under 5 minutes. If motor works and no power to motor from drivers door then there is a broken wire in circuit or the drivers control unit is not working. NEXT... disconnect drivers door control unit and check to see which brass terminals have power (key on position), note them... then put 12 volt power from battery to a terminal from plug that was attached to the passenger door motor, using your test light check drivers door plug to see if there is power to any terminals you DID NOT MARK as having power, if power then you know the circuit is good, do this with both wires from passenger door motor plug. (A circuit tester can be used as well). If continuity then the problem is in the drivers door control unit. If no continuity then a break in the wires to the passenger door, breaks usually occur between the body A pillar and where the wires go to the door as it flexes there every time the door opens or closes. Hope this helps, rate so I know if it is worth my while helping out on here.. thanks...

Rear side windows

This may be just a case of inadvertently hitting the window lock out n th driver door window switch by mistake. Check that first. Here's some background on window operation

Principles of Operation
The driver power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the master window/door lock/unlock switch (and its integrated "auto down" module). Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The SEC/timer module will ground this relay when the ignition is in the ON position and will remain energized for approximately 15 minutes or until the driver or passenger door is opened.
The driver power window regulator motor is a reversible motor that is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The passenger power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the passenger power window switch and can also be controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch.
The passenger power window regulator motor is a reversible motor, which is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The power rear quarter glass is also directly controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch. The power rear quarter glass power latches also utilize reversible motors. The power rear quarter glass power latches are operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to open the window, and then reversing polarity on those same leads to close the window.
