This system is controlled my the power control module. when you need it the system sets a ground to the system
you can run a ground to the blower motor and it should come on. but you will need to put some kind of switch on it to cut it off so it will not kill your battery or just replace the module.

Testimonial: "thanks for the input, i need to ohm the ground to the pcm, hopefully it's a bad wire. i just got the diagram for the pcm. we'll see God bless"

Radiator fans are inop. I unplugged ect and then worked. I can command them on with scan tool. But don't come on when ac is on.

U need to check the schematic for all the components in the affected circuits and start checking them. Could be a fuse, relay, sensor, etc.

06 vue cooling fan wont shut off tried new relay swich and the 40a fuse is obviously good. what could it be, temp sending unit?

The power for the fan comes from 2 relays in the
junction block on the left fender. One is a high fan relay 40amp the other is the low fan relay 20amp.
If either one is stuck, it will power the fan. Also if the
engine coolant temp(ect)sensor is bad, it can send a
false signal to the engine control module(ecm) and powering the fan. With the engine cool, if the fans still
running. Unplug the ect sensor(on thermo. housing)
if the fan stops replace the sensor. If not pull the relays one at a time. And see which one stops the fan. If none of this works it may be an ecm problem.
Hope this helps.

Electric fans don't run, but checks Ok. Air condition not working. compressure checks Ok,but clutch not engageing but can jump wire clutch to engage. All fuses checks good,

FIRST IS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON....YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO UNPLUG THE ECT... ELECTRONIC COOLING TEMP SENSOR.....A TWO WIRE SENSOR THAT TELLS THE COMPUTER THE TEMP OF MOTOR....WHEN THE MOTOR TEMP GETS HIGH THE COMPUTER GROUNDS THE COOLING FAN RELAY TO TURN FANS ON..IF FANS DON'T RUN WITH SENSOR UNPLUGGED THE GET A SMALL PIECE OF WIRE AND FOR A SHORT TIME SHORT THE TWO WIRES ON THE PLUG FOR SENSOR...IF IT DOES COME ON REPLACE SENSOR IF IT DOES NOT COME ON SUSPECT COMPUTER...ONLY IF ALL FUSES ARE OK LET ME KNOW

1999 Chevy Cavalier Z24 2.4L cooling fan inoperative

Probalby not, seeing that's what's telling your over heating. it wont be a bad idea to remove it (be carefull of hot fluid) and clean it off and put it back in. (wouldn't hurt anyways) but this problem is most likly a falty relay form the PCM to the fans. wireing might be corroed and need to be cleaned. check the fans for power and gorund with an omh meter.

Cooling fan won't come on, have tested fan and replaced temperature sensor.

First question to you is.. Have you checked the wiring or ECU codes?

check the cooling fan switch on the back of the block, unplug the connector and jumper.
2 wires, turn ignition on and fan should come on...

if it does-----replace the cooling fan switch
if it doesnt----- go to the cooling fan relay on the pass side inner fender
panel behind the headlight and check it, besides the fan itself and the fuse, those are the only things in the system.

IDLES HOT

First check to see if the cooling fans on the radiator are working, You should be able to hear them from outside the car. Try turning on the a/c that should automatically make them come on. If they do not then you have a power loss to them. Check the relay under the hood by taking a small jumper wire and touching the terminals inside the plug going to the relay. If the fans run then the relay is bad. If they dont then it is possable that the cooling sensor is bad. Good luck. dont forget to rate.

Cooling fan wont work

The water temp sensor is located near the thermostat housing. This sensor is what tells the ECM to turn the fan on/off. The water temp sending unit is located near the same area. You know you have the correct sensor is because the water temp sensor has a 2 prong plug. The water temp sending unit only has 1 prong.
