Question about Philips Televison & Video
I need to know where we can borrow or rent A Particular Rear Projection TV from Phillips Model(60PP9202/17F) Convergence Template Model (ST4179). I have googled online and they cost around $100 Bucks and we Are Repairing the TV Ourselves. This would almost double the cost of repair. Does anyone have one that we can borrow or rent?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You may need to sinlpy adjust the convergence. Check your owners manuel for the proper way to access the convergence screen and follow it step by step. If this doesn't work, you may have a bad convergence chip. Here is my generic post for convergence.
You most likely have a convergence chip bad. In our shop, when we are working on projection TVs, we find that about 80% of the repairs we make are the same problem you are having. You need to replace the convergence chip ( there are 2 of the same chips on the convergence board, and I suggest you replace both ). If you are going to attempt the repair yourself you'll need to remember to use lots of heat sink grease so you don't have the same problem again. Also, try to get original parts, as there are times that the after-market ones don't work well. As a precaution, always remember to unplug the set from the wall before you do any work on the set. Good Luck

Convergence ICs cost around 15-25 each there are only two of them. I would go ahead and replace both of them because if one goes the other one will follow shortly. I would make sure that it is just the convergence IC not something else, and if its over five years old dont pay more than $500.

you have an up grade for this unit.
replace original ICs with STK 392-120
if you can soldier and clean heat sink of and replace heat sink you can replace thes parts no problem.
