How do the fuel lines hook up to the carburetor, huh?'s not too complicated. Small diameter line coming out of fuel tank goes directly to the carb on the fuel pump end..(end opposite the one with hole in the cover). The larger line coming out of the fuel tank goes to the longer nipple on the purge/primer bulb. The other line coming off of the carburetor (on the end with the hole in the cover) goes to the shorter nipple on the purge/primer bulb. The purge bulb "pulls" air and old fuel out of the carb thus allowing fresh fuel to flow in from the fuel tank and then it "pushes" this mixture of air/old fuel back to the fuel tank.

Starts with spraying gas into the carb then quits

You have spark, so problem with fuel. Maybe old gas. Determine if getting fuel to carburetor - if so you need to clean carburetor. If not, clean fuel lines or replace fuel pump.

I installed a new carburator but will not speed up

There were a lot of these years made and the wrecking yard is full of them for extra parts. As far and the may have been worn out or set around so long that things have frozen up inside. This will requirr you to buy a carb kit and the auto parts store. Shouldn't be but 15 or twenty bucks. But be fore you do that check the fuel filter. Some carburetors have one built in too. It would be right where the fuel line connects to it. The other filter is in the gas line either near the carburetor or under the vehicle running along the driver side door or there abouts. You can take it off when you fand it and blow through the end that is pointed away from te carburetor. Have a paper towel handle so you can blow the excess gas into the towel and check for dirt and gunk. If a lot came out the replace the filter. If it looked pretty good then replace the filter back on the truck because I doubt it is the problem. May I ask why you replaced the carburetor in the first place? The trouble may lie somewhere other then the carburetors. Raz

Inspect your hose routing. it should be similar to this:
  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed. HTH

My 1991 subaru legacy will not idle when its cold . it is getting progressively worse , now it wont idle at all .

Your ideler controler is sticky or going bad ! ( IT is like that flapy plate on the carbrator on the older modles). A good dose of fule injector will do the job most of the time.SO happy spraing and let me know how it went.

It wont start.

If it was stored with ethanol fuel on board your hoses may have holes or cracks as well. Inspect them carefully. It sounds as if there is a fuel delivery problem. Check the fuel filter on the free end of a hose in fuel tank (manufacturer recommends an annual replacement). Check all fuel delivery lines especially at fittings and bends for cracks and holes. If those are good then the likely cause is internal parts of the carburetor are dirty or have failed. HTH

The open end goes toward the back of the heater.

Next try cleaning the flue.

Other potential causes for an EE2 are malfunctions of the circuit board, flame sensor or or fuel pump.
