SOURCE: Logitech USB Mic/Headset not working with Vista

No, its not the audio device, as my sound is all working okay otherwise with all other devices. I tried the headset on my friends new HP machine also running Vista and the guess what? same thing happened. So obviously its a Vista problem and not the sound card nor the USB ports. I contacted Maxdata the PC manufacturer and they suggested a hotfix which didnt work (the link didnt work not the hotfix). I emailed them back and they suggested contacting Microsoft which i have done.
Thanks for trying folks, and keep em coming. Any more brainy ideas are more then welcome.

SOURCE: Logitech M-BJ58 USB optical mouse win xp issue

Hello dcipher,

This is due to a missing Windows file called input.inf. The solution is as follows:
In Windows XP, you can use the MSCONFIG utility as described in the following steps:

  1. Click Start->Run.
  2. Type msconfig in the Open field, and then click OK.
  3. Click the Expand File button.
  4. Type input.inf in the File to restore box.
  5. Type the path of the Windows XP .cab file where you want to restore the file from in the Restore from box. If you don't know the patch, click the Browse From button to locate the Windows XP .cab file.
    Note: The Windows XP .cab files are stored in the I386 folder on the Windows XP CD.
  6. Type C:\windows\inf\ in the Save file in box. This assumes that Windows XP was installed to the default directory. If Windows was not installed to the default directory, you will need to adjust the path to point to the correct directory.
  7. Click the Expand button.
  8. Click OK. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
After extracting the file and restarting, try installing the mouse software again. You should no longer see this error message.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. Before you assign a rating, please make sure that the issue is resolved or you are satisfied. If not, please post back as to what you did, and/or any other questions you may have, and I will try to assist you as best I can. Please do not assign an ‘Inappropriate’ or ‘Thanks for trying’ rating if your issue is not resolved after the first response itself, as sometimes a bit of to and fro dialogue may be necessary before we can find a fix or an answer to your query.

If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! or Helpful rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!

SOURCE: Microsoft Optical 1.1A Wheel Mouse Optical - USB, PS/2 (D66-00034)

Hi again,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me" and the repeat use of FixYa.

Interesting concern, should be pretty straightforward. Anyways, pls try to:

  • update/re-install the driver from Microsoft Download page;
  • alternately, disable the "Allow the computer to turn off..." in the Power Management tab of the USB Root Hub Properties in your Device Manager.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you again for using FixYa.

Connecting cordless optical logictech mouse

First, make sure you put the power on for your mouse.

Second, go to device manager and make sure your USB ports are working fine, if they're yellow and have a ? then you will need to install a new driver.
