Question about LG DLG2532 Gas Dryer

1 Answer

On 1/20/09 had to replace Blower Wheel (cost$243.80 by AFCO Home Appliance -in Lynbrook NY.). And on 2/13/07 had to replace Motor Part No.468IEL1002A.....And now, machine makes again terrible rumbling noise as if drum touching something.....but am suspicious, that it might be again the Motor or the Blower....??? By the way, when Blower was replaced, the repairman left and when we tried it out, it did not sound right already then...and we should actually have called him right back, but my daughter did not....and today we have this problem again. My recommendation is to NEVER buy another LG Dryer again....what is your opinion and advise ? Thanks very much, Oscar Bosshart

I have a Preway gas wall oven. Repair man said it was 55 years old. Guessing he couldn't know the exact age so late 50's/early 60's. It remains lit until about 3 or 4 minutes of preheating. Then the flame...

Try contacting them directly- I bet they might be able to help. Please don't take this into your own hands and attempt to rig something up, unless you're a professional. Especially when you're smelling gas during pre-heat. Here's their contact info:

I have a maytag heavy duty gas dryer model number LDG412 i need to know how to clean the vent all the way to the duct, the dryer is getting hot but it is taking a long time to dry clothes now, inside where...

Hello,
while cleaning the venting is never a bad idea and i recommend its done yearly,a common problem with older (the ldg 412 is from the mid 1980's) Maytag dryers isa stripped drive hub on the blower wheel and absolutly no air is being circulated throughout the dryer. A lot of times when starting the dryer and when it stops a rumbling noise will be made if the blower wheel is the problem. To check it if is the blower wheel you can remove the front panel by removing the screws that are a slight angle at the bottom of the front panel,tilt it out toward you at about a 45degree angle,then off. At that point remove the four 5/16" hexhead screws holding on the front drum support,lift it up slighly then off. The blower wheel will be in the lower left corner and you could spin it by your hand if it spins around the motor shaft it slips onto and does not move the drum while turning the blower wheel,it is stripped and needs to be replaced.To replace it remove the 1/4" hex head screws that hold the front plate to the plastic blower housing(7 screws) and the 5/16" hex head in the tab also in the plate in the front of blower housing the plate where come off. To replace blower wheel remove the greenish/black clamp from the center hub and the thin metal ring that fits ina groove on the motor shaft, a special c/e clip ring pliers are needs to remove the ring. A inexpensive pair could be picked up at most places that sell tools(ace hardware/lowes/home depot/sears) The part number for the blower wheel is 303836 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;
searspartsdirect.com
repairclinic.com
apdepot.com

I hope this will help you to repair your dryer,
Gene

My dryer runs and heats but seems like no air is being blown. It should have some sort of a blower correct? Taking 2 cycles to get dry and vent is not clogged, but not sure about lint trap slot.

First, of course, make sure ALL the airways are clear, including the area around the lint filter, and the outside vent - lint likes to stick to the outside vent flap, so make sure you clean that off too, and that it opens and closes freely.

Here's how to get the dryer apart

There is a blower wheel, but it's powered by the same motor and belt which turns the drum. So if your drum is turning, the blower wheel should be turning, too. If not, you may have to replace the blower wheel. Here a link showing how to do so:

Ford windstar98 heater problem

its either 1 of 2 things. either your heater control is a lil faulty or the blower motor is going..up here in southern tier ny at napa the switch lists at $13 the blower motor now for the parts under the hood. main unit lists for around $42 the rear unit without the blower wheel lists around $43 and the whole thing assembled runs for about $120

(those prices are rounding UP to the next dollar i cannot verify if the prices are the same around your area. but NAPA can :-D )

My coleman 3 ton heat pump blows very little air

Check the blower capacitor and blower speed, you probably have a 3 or 4 speed motor make sure it's on medium high or high speed.
If these are ok then shut the power off to the indoor unit and pull the blower housing out so you can see the blower wheel, make sure it's clean and very carefully spin the wheel to see if it spins freely keep hands away from wheel while it's spinning, if it doesn't then the bearings are bad and you need to replace the motor.

Replace blower motor in Lennox gas heater

It is a fairly simple operation. The hardest part may be seperating the blower wheel from the motor shaft. I recommend first sanding then applying a little oil to the old shaft. Prop the blower housing aprox. a foot off the floor with the motor facing down then using a wrench (NOT pliers as you may scar the shaft) hold the wheel with one hand and work the wrench on the shaft work it back and forth to loosen. DO NOT hammer on the end of the shaft as you will mushroom it ever so slightly. The weight of the motor should cause the shaft to slide down. Good luck and don't forget to answer back if this works or not.
