Question about Craftsman 42 in. Precision Cut Plus 24hp Lawn Tractor
Have a Model # 917.28870 Professional Craftsman Mower - 24hp with 42" deck. Complete service at 50 hours - changed plugs also.
At 65 hours the mower started sputtering and needed choke to stay running. Within minutes quit. Investigating I found gas in oil.
What is the most likely problem?
Gas in oil is usually a symptom of flooding, caused by a stuck needle valve or damaged float in the carburetor. But 65 hours is awfully "young" for this problem.
