Sounds like it's going off on a high limit switch. Check and make sure the exhaust flex hose is clear all the way to outside and make sure lint filter is clean. If all is clean, you may have a bad limit switch.

Frigidaire AEQ8700FGO dryer will run (and heat) for about 30 to 60 seconds then stop. 3 lights above start button will flash rapidly. Depressing cancel and start buttons at same time will not work for...

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Timer
The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is faulty replace it If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem

Heating Element
This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat inside the tub. Replace it

Maytag Dryer Model med5630TQ0, run it for 30 minutes works great run a second time for 30 minutes it automatically shuts-off and than I have to wait until it cools off to use heat option

Try cleaning out the vent in the wall and also check the vent hose to ensure its not kinked. If good air flow coming out of vent on back of dryer while running you could have a bad motor. Have to be disassembled to check it professionally.

I have a gas dryer, model MDG7657AWW that will not stay heated. Every time I put it on, the flame comes on for about 21 seconds & then shuts off. I replaced the igniter, hi limit thermostat, cycling t

On a gas dryer the heat normally only comes on for 30 seconds or until the drum temp reaches 160f at which time the flame is shut down by the cycling thermostat. The drum temp then starts to drop. When the drum temp reaches 105f then another blast of heat is issued for 30 more seconds. That is how they work. Put it all back together and trow a load in there.

Dryer starts to heat up and then heat element stops after about 30 seconds. if i reset the breaker it will do the same. if i just restart it soes not try to heat up

I would say it may be the Thermal Fuse here is a website to check it, and how to open the dryer. of course on the site the other things that may cause no heat: heating element, thermostat, and timer motor. it will show how to test these, also. Hope this helps Tim

Stops after 20-30 seconds but only when using heat. Can immediately restart.

rbf, in looking Im not finding a 649732, but I do find a 649723. This dryer has a even heat board but also a thermistor. If you had to hold the start button for it to run, I would suspect the even heat board. That's not the case so Im suspecting a open or shorted thermistor. If you remove the lower panel it sits right behind the blower housing next to the thermal fuse. Should be black in color. Part number 3976615. The thermistor should ohm out at about 10k ohms plus or minus 3. When one of these thermistors fails usually you get the symtom your describing. Catriver.
