Ok, so I got a RCA remote from 1800-remotes for $40.00 that they said is guaranteed to work with the Proscan but do I need to reprogram the remote because it is not working.

Hello
Just try with these four digit codes. Proceedings are given below.

0031 0107 0015 0000 0162 0163

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
NOTE: Switch OFF and switch ON the tv with its front panel power control switch [NOT BY REMOTE CONTROL HANSET] before each try.

Get a universal from big box and program. If you can find a rca remote, it should be programmed already.

Maybe, but I would first go into menu and look at audio settings and make sure speakers are on internal and not external or turn off.
Also just unplug for an hour and restart unit. Lastly, it may be cheaper to just attach a 100.00 surround sound system for audio.

PS32500 32" TV Problem

The sound that you hear is coming from the sound detector not working or not receiving any audio. If the set is set to a second audio (SAP) program this could be you trouble. Some programs are broadcast this way. (such as Spanish for Spanish speaking people. Check you audio program settings.

ProScan PS32500 32"-Picture has white static line & Static/burning smell

It sounds like the circuit board is arching over somewhere. It could be as simply as cleaning and digging out the carbon mark to stop the arching. This is most likely the screen or focus voltage causing this, if there are no parts that have broken down. This will damage the printed circuit board and make things worse the more you let this cook. This could be dangerous for you to mess with because of the high voltage present, so my best advise would be to get this into the repair shop as soon as possible before this board burns up. It should not cost all that much if the CRT board can be repaired. Good Luck

Short circuit in High Voltage deflection circuit, usually the Horizontal output Transistor. What the 4 clicks are the power supply trying to turn on but it is sensing a short circuit..

Yes. It is possible that the audio circuits in the TV have a fault.
