Question about Panasonic DVD & Blu-Ray Players

1 Answer

Just bought a DVD S54 and when it is hooked up to a Panasonic Plazma TV, the picture from the DVD has short horizontal lines across the picture but worse - the picture is set to the left of the screen with only about 2/3 of the picture showing on the TV.

I plugged my old VDV in and it seemed to work fine, so I boxed up the new panasonic and will be returning it for a refund. It was obviously defective. This will also save me the money to pay Fixya

When hooking up to a new tv, the sound no longer

Hi
This all depends on how you connected the two. If you used the component cables then you've forgotten the audio cables. If you're using an s-cable then you've bent a pin or the connector is not centered. If you're using an Html connector then the cable may be bad but my money is on the DVD player being bad.

I need the remote codes to make a Panasonic S54 dvd player region free. can you help me???

HELLO!
The main thing about Panasonic dvd machines is the majority of them cannot be hacked by the remote itself. On the web try www.genuinecopies.tv as they sell remotes with the codes already built in that will do the job for you. It worked with my Panasonic DVD/VCR combi and they're great as a spare remote too!
Hope this has been of some use to you! CHEERS!

Sound but no picture

Your player has several outputs and you might want to start with the basic Video Audo Left Right output first.

Set your with your plazma to see if you can change the input types to accept the video and audio input which will probably be labeled AV 1, AV 2 and so on.

My guess is that you have it set for Component Red Blue Green which his a high def (just before HTMI) and requires a separate audio cable. Your player, depending on the age of the unit, probably will not have Red Blue Green picture output.

Next if you have an HTMI output from your player hook that to your Plazma in the HDMI 1 position and select it on the TV's setting. Audio and Video are both carried in the HDMI cable.

Good luck, my name is Eric Kirkhuff

Panasonic DMR-EH50. Dubbing NTSC VCR tapes to HDD

That's normal with different region signals. Only a multiregion recorder/player combo will transfer properly
