Question about HP PSC 1610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

The last time I used the printer, 18 hours ago, there was no problem. Next time I went to print, I got the error message to remove and check the right cartridge. I did so at least 8 times.. message remained the same. I rebooted, message stayed the same, I unplugged the printer, replugged, message stayed the same. Since this started, I'm also unable to close down the printer. It says it's closing down, then stalls out. Up until now, this has been a great little workhorse. What can be done to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

I so appreciate the help I was given. I really thought my printer was a gonner....never considered it could be a faulty cartridge.

Partial reset by doing the following: Press and hold Cancel and the Left Arrow while plugging in the power cord. If that doesn't solve the problem and you are absolutely sure that your cartridges are good, then it's repair or replacement time

looks like that printer has damaged its own catridge and you may have to replace it.. that is if my above solution has not worked. but before you replace it, you need to download a patch (HpPsc1600_Uni_FwPatch2.exe) from
hp-homepage first, connect your printer (with the destroyed cartridge in
it) and install the update of the All-In-One software. Then you can
    install a new cartridge.

    Regards

Neither worked. I'm sending a print screen showing the patch info.

  • mail_dumpp Jul 16, 2010

akk.... the pic is small. The patch info given was for the 1600 printer, mine is a 1610, so the patch didn't work.

I installed a new cartridge and all is well ! Thanks for your help.

Paper Jame when i start printer after 10 to 12 houres and hang after three or four time restart printer then print the paper

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

Printer not printing

Hi,

When this error appears in your printer check if ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel is with the cartridge. To fix this issue use the Kleenex (perfume ) added with few drops of water to dampen it and clean off those contact on the holder. You should let the unit sit 24 hours for best results. Before printing anything run aligned the cartridges a couple times then run clean cartridges a couple of times. Print the test page to look for the condition.

Thank you !!

There could be 2 reasons for your problem

Solution 1 fig are available
Step 1: Press the Resume button
Press the Resume button. Wait for approximately one minute and then print a self-test by pressing and holding the Power button and pressing the Resume button four times. Release the Power button. The self-test page should print. If the carriage is still stuck, go to the next step.
Step 2: Power cycle the printer
Turn the power off and back on, following these instructions:

1. Turn off the printer by pressing and releasing the Power button. If it will not turn off, proceed to Step 3. If it does turn off, proceed to the next step.
2. Turn on the printer.
3. If the Power light is on steady, print a self test with the instructions above in Step 1.
Step 3: Clear the paper path
Reset the printer and clear the paper path of any paper that may be jammed in it, using the following instructions:
1. Leave the printer turned on and disconnect the power cable and the USB or parallel cable from the back of the printer. Do not reconnect them until instructed later.
2. Remove the paper from the in-tray.
3. Remove the rear access door or duplexer (if installed) from the back of the printer.
Figure 4: Removing the rear access door
4. Open the top cover of the printer.
5. Check for and remove any paper still in the printer. A paper jam could cause the error message and the carriage stall.
6. Replace the rear access door, close the top cover, and replace the paper in the in-tray.
7. Reconnect only the power cable. If the printer does not automatically turn on, turn it on with the Power button.
NOTE: The printer may go through a warm-up period of up to two minutes. Lights may flash and the carriage may move. Wait until this warm-up period is complete before going to the next step.
8. If the Power light is on steady, do an internal test as described in Step 1 above.
If the carriage is still in a stalled position, contact HP Technical support to have the printer serviced.
