Hello truebluestan,
Well, basically it depends upon your system configuration, the amount of RAM you have and the type of slots available on your motherboard.
Take a look HERE for competitively priced video cards
If you have a PCI Express slot and are willing to spend some cash, ASUS GeForce 9600GT or EVGA GeForce 8800GTS(320MB) video cards. If you are looking for something cheaper in the PCI Express slot variety, the EVGA GeForce 8600GT is a good buy for your system configuration.
If you want something for the AGP slot, the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 3850 would be a good choice.
Hope that helps..
P.S. Before you assign a rating, please make sure that the issue is resolved. If it isn't, please post back as to what you did, and/or any other questions you may have, and I will try to assist you as best I can.
If you find that the solution I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! or Helpful rating, which would be much appreciated :)
Please do not assign an ‘Inappropriate’ or ‘Thanks for trying’ rating after the first response itself, as sometimes a bit of to and fro dialogue may be necessary before we can find a fix or an answer to your query.
Thank you for using FIXYA!
Cheers!
