Question about Samsung HCM4215W 42" Rear Projection Television
We heard a loud pop and the tv turned off and will not turn on again
That sounds like the lamp bulb blew and you will need to replace it. You can find ads on this web site that sell DLP bulbs at a decent price and you can install it yourself, or you can call 1-800-samsung to find the nearest service center.

SOURCE: Tv wont turn on
The loud pop was a capacitor blowing up or the high voltage transformer blew up. Very common problem.. if its the Transformer be expected to pay 250 or more to have repaired.

The tv has a little door at the right or left side. that is the lamp place (refer to the user's manual to replace the lamp of the unit). make sure you replace the lamp when the tv is unppluged of the power. safety always first.

If you have a Sony DLP, then the loud pop you heard is your lamp. The lamps last approx. 4K-6K viewing hours. Read your manual for replacement part number to reorder and very simple to replace yourself.
