First connect your computer to one of the LAN ports of the router...
Then check your ip address for LAN under network connections...

If you get any 169.254.X.X ip address then you need to reset the router...

if you get some other ip address then note down the default gateway and try with that...

try this...

goto run > type "cmd" and hit enter >> command prompt will open...

in command prompt type this

start iexplore 192.168.0.1

and hit enter

Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Leave the user name blank and enter the password admin ( admin once only ).

Try this.
If that doesn't work then search for the Cisco connect software on your main computer. You might have installed the cisco connect software on your main computer while installing your router.
If it is windows computer then cisco connect software might be under All Programs.
If is a MAC computer then cisco connect might be under Applications.

Open cisco connect software.
Click on router settings. You will see the router name and password. If you click on Advanced settings, it will open the setup page.

If nothing is working then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure it.
Remember once you reset the router, you will need to reconfigure it from the scratch.

I have moved address and taken my router with me but no longer have the software cd for it and cannot find a way to get my wireless set up

Hard reset your wireless router and connect it with your laptop/desktop lan port through patch cord. Look there it is connected or not. If connected then check the default gateway ip address and put it in your web browser and press enter to open the router terminal. Most routers username/password is admin/admin or admin/****(blank) or ****(blank)/admin or admin/password.

Hope it works. Then you setup your wireless router as before as you done.

Hello...I'm trying to connect a wireless kodak printer and I do not know my ssid to enter into the key pad and a wireless connection cannot be completed without it.I have a d-link router.thanks....Andrew

You can open the admin page of the dlink router to set up the SSID in the wireless section. To do that, you will need to connect a PC to it and set up an IP address for the PC in the same subnet of the admin IP address of the router. You may see the admin IP address on the back or the bottom of the router or from the manual or from the web site of the manufacturer. If the admin IP is 192.168.0.1, you can set up the IP address of your PC in the TCP/IP properties to use a static IP such as 192.168.0.10 or something and open the admin page of the router in a web browser by using the admin IP address of the router as the URL. Then you can login there and change the setting. After you get the SSID and maybe WPA password set, you can use it for wireless connection on your home network.

I can't access my routers administration page. It tells me to type in http://192.168.0.1 and all I get is a bunch of search results instead of the administration page

disconnect your modem from router, or turn off your modem from router...

Now try to open...

because the router admin page will be built inside the router itself... so you never require internet connection to be ON for opening the router admin page...

How do i log into my router so i can open up ports so i can switch my nat type from 3 to 2 on my ps3

With a computer that is directly connected to the router (wired connection), open your web browser and go to this URL: http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 whichever works for your router.

When prompted to login, use:
user name = admin
password = admin (or just leave blank if the "admin" password is not accepted)

Give it a try.

Hello,
To configure your router do the following.
Open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar.
This open the page for settings for the router.
The username is likely "admin" or "administrator" and the password "admin", "administrator" or "password". Once you're into the router you can change the settings as you wish.
ok try that

I have a linksys wirelss router but it has been uninstalled and i can't find the cd to re-install it what can i do

You do not need any software to install a router.
Connect your router to your cable/dsl modem, turn it on and then connect the router to your computer via ethernet cable.
Open a browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. This brings you to the login page of your router. On older Linksys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer routers the default username and password for a are both "admin/admin."
