Hi there thanks for asking,if you want to upgrade your computer you need to connect the new hard drive inside the computer and install the operating system. please follow these steps: insert the operating system disk into the CD/DVD drive, restart the computer, press F12 and choose boot from CD save and exit. As the computer loading it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD, press any key, a blue screen will appear while its loading, when it get to the first set of options you will press enter to continue. when it get to the second set of options it will ask you to install the operating system or repair it, choose install and follow the steps from there, once you choose install, then computer will go through different stages. The next step is to enter the keys for the operating system the the computer will continue until it finish the repairs and this should solve the problem of missing files. But you should backup your files before doing this even though no file will be lost but its better to backup just in case something goes wrong. Backing up the file is always an important part of having a computer, you should also create a recovery CD and this can be done during the process of backing up your computer files. The back up files should be store on one or more DVDs and this along with the recovery CD should be store in a safe place and dry place. The purpose of the recovery CD is to repair damage or missing files from the computer and each computer require its own back up and recovery disk to repair the problem.
You will need to install the antivirus and antispyware after you finish

Hard Disk Upgrade Can I upgrade or install a larger hard disk drive in my Viewer?

The P-5000 includes an internal 80GB hard drive which is specifically designed to work with this product. There are no hard drive upgrades available for this product. If you try to install another hard drive, it may damage or adversely affect the operation of the product. This type of damage or operational failure is not covered by the product's warranty.
