Question about D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router
I bought a D-Link DIR-615 a few months back and it apparently went out in storm - I could connect through the modem but not through the router. Bought another one to replace it a couple of weeks back and it appears this one has gone out in a storm also. Searching the internet to troubleshoot it, as I just can't imagine it is so fragile that I am going to have be constantly replacing it. Have not been able to find any info on possible ways to fix the router. Just can't believe it is so sensitive. Any ideas for me to try?
I dont think your router has gone bad...
try these simple steps...
connect your computer to one of the LAN(wired) ports of router...
check the ip address and default gateway of your local area connection through control panel > network connections.... if you get the ip adress in the range of dlink router then try going to start > run > type "cmd" and hit enter >command prompt will appear... in command prompt type this
ping (default gateway address) and hit enter...if you get successful replies then your router is not gone bad...
