Question about Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603SS Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

This is the 2nd time I've had problems with my dish drawer. After I cleaned the filter and replaced it, I had standing water on the bottom of the drawer. The last time this happened, I had someone come to repair it - ended up it was me. I didn't put it together properly. This time I did the same thing I was told to do. I still have the standing water. What should I do. By the way, the coils are not kinked in the back either. Can you please give me some advice? Please respond to me at Thank you.

Unfortunately I have to respond to you through this post per policy of This s to ensure we have a visibility on the quality of the solution and also allow other consultants to help if necessary.

Water standing at the bottom is not a problem as long as it it is below the filter plate. The important thing is whether the dishwasher is completing the cycle and the dishes are clean.

I do not have enough information about what is happening with the other drawer considering you have indicated this is a DD603 which is a double drawer model.

Before I recommend anything else, get Finish dishwasher cleaner kit from the super market and run the dishwasher empty per the instructions. Choose the Normal wash cycle so that water temperature is about 65degC.(you will have to check in Fareinheit if that is what you use).

If water is still remaining behind after that than post a comment and I will try to find further solutions that might help.

My Fisher & Paykel double dishwasher won't drain completely

It may be a blocked hose. First point to check is under the sink where the thin corrugated drain hose joins the sink drain. If it is a double dish drawer there will be two hoses, one black and one white. The black hose is usually from the top drawer. They are held on by spring clamps.
If this is not the problem, post again.

F1 error on Fisher and Paykel Dish Drawer

Sorry did not see your problem report earlier. If you have checked the sensor under the bottom drawer and it is dry, then F1 is caused by top drawer power filter fault. This means the bottom drawer controller is giving the F1 error but the top drawer controller has no power. Can you confirm this.

I have a DS601 v2 dishwasher drawer that has suddenly stopped cleaning the dishes. The drain filter isn't completely emptying either. I've taken all the parts out and cleaned them bit this made no...

There are a few things that can cause this.
If there are no error messages being displayed during the cycle, the most common ones are:
1) Loose Impeller on the motor rotor. Check it by removing the drain filter, dish rack, spray arm and main wash filter (the giant stainless steel circular one), then twist the motor to the left and it should just pop out. If you hold the bottom of the motor in one and and the larger impeller on top freely spins, this is your problem.
2) Crack in the side of the spray arm. If the spray arm is separated, then the water pressure will being spraying sideways, rather than up to your dishes.
3) Too much fat or protein built up inside. This happens when you put too much eggs and milky stuff in there. Just run it for a cycle with detergent but no dishes. DO NOT use one of those dishwasher cleaner things in a dish drawer, they do more harm than good due to the fact that they are designed for a dishwasher with double the capacity of yours.

Water in dish drawer

Depending on how much water could be collecting it might be normal. If this is causing the dishwasher not to clean the dishes properly then you may need to clean the filters and ensure the kitchen sink drain is clean.

DD-603 cycle and draining problems.

check your kitchen drain as it might be blocked or if you have a garbage disposal (kitchen insinkerator) make sure it is cleared before running the dishwasher.

Sediment is collecting in the bottom and on the dishes. I have tried a cleaning cycle but it doesn't work.

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter

When the wash cycle takes longer than the time stated on the display, and when the dishes are done, there is about three inches of dirty water in the bottom of the drawer . The repair technician replaced...

A couple of things to confirm first
1. is the second drawer working oK - i am assuming you have a double drawer model?

2. Are you not seeing the wash cycle time on the display? why does the technician want to replace the display (LCD)?

3. Apart from replacing the rotor did the technician try to clean the dishwasher base and pump filter sump?

Please post your comments to help diagnose the cause of dirty water remaining in the dishwasher.
