Hi,

Have you set the video mode on the machine or plugged it up to a different TV? if so try this >>>

Make sure all leads are connected to the TV.

Next, turn the PS3 off so the red light is on. Hold down the power button on the PS3 until you hear a beep. Release the power button and press it again.
That should have reset the video settings so you will be able to set the video settings again and access the PS3 menu.

Post back if you get no luck.

Regards.

When i turn on my ps3, the green light stays on and the tv screen doesn't even change. i changed the cords to make sure the audio/video wasn't just out. i tried to enter 'recovery mode' but it won't even...

If you have a "slim" ps3, it does not beep 3 times. Try this.
First, with the system off, plug in your old red, white, yellow cables into the tv. (make sure your tv is on the correct setting). Now, just turn on the ps3 the regular way. Did you hear the sounds it normally makes when booting up (the ps3 boot music?). If so, thats good. If you did not, check again that the tv is on the right channel, and if possible, try another set of red, white, yellow cables.

If you heard sound, but do not get a picture, turn the ps3 back off. After the red light comes on, hold your finger down on the power button for about 5 seconds. If you have a fat ps3, it will beep 3 times after a few seconds to get back to regular tv mode. If you have a slim ps3, it will beep once, then 1 more time a few seconds later. It should reset and turn back on. If your tv is on the right channel and the cables work, then you should now see a picture and you know your audio/video is working. You can now try your HDMI cable and it should prompt you to use the HDMI at this point.

Hope that helps.
Mike!

Playstion won't turn on all the way

Hi. Is there in light indicator to your machine when you try to push the power button. If there are no lights coming on then this could be a defective power adapter.

Playstion 3 was hook up hdmi try to hook up with the regular way has no picture.

You need to turn the ps3 off so that the red light is on then hold the power button for about 10 seconds. It will beep twice then turn off, let go then turn back on. This resets the video default settings.

Can not get HDMI to work on PLAYSTION 3 on my Philips 42' Plasma

I had the same thing with my PS3 on a samsung 40". Try pressing the power button down on the PS3 for 5 secs or more, until it beeps (Not sure if it's one beep or a series of). I think this is how you reset the system and it should automatically recognise and reset the resolution size to HD on you're screen. Hope this helps,

Andy.

Powers on, Controller wont connect, nothing shows up

switch the hard switch off in the back of the ps3. unplug power cord... press and hold power button located on the front f the ps3 for approx 10 secs, then let it sit for a few, then hook it back up and turn the hard switch back on and try to power it back up.

I have had this happen once before but it did return to normal.

my solution would be to restore the playstion 3 to default settings unless you have files on your ps3 that you do not want to delete forever.
