I guess your printer is not a network printer, meaning it is not automatically connected to your router if you have or it is using a dedicated internet connection thru your internet provider in which I believe you have. You may install a USB adapter in which this adapter will be connected directly to your modem or your router. And then this USB adapter has its port dedicated to printer. One end of the port is connected to the printer and the other to the adapter itself. You may install this once you connect this adapter thru one of the USB ports. Otherwise, if you only have one cable connected from your computer to the printer, then you may check the device manager by clicking Start > right click Computer > left click Properties . Then click Hardware and then click Device Manager. Check if there is Printer devices installed such as USB adapter or any other drivers in particular.

The important thing here is that printer cable should be detected, you may reinsert the cable after you turn off the printer. If you have another printer cable, try to test if it works. Otherwise this might be a compatibility issue with the printer and the pc. That is time to refer to your printer manufacturer.

Again, these steps are the suggested ones, you may consult a technician if symptom persist..

My printer is not printing showing offline

First thing you need to do is power cycle the printer. If that doesn't fix the problem then restart your PC. If it still shows offline and you used a USB cord to connect to the PC, I would try changing out the USB cord. If it is a wireless printer, then you need to log into your wireless router and see if it shows an IP assigned to the printer. If not then go thru the wireless setup routine for the printer again.

I have a toshiba notebook. how do I set it up to my printer

you will need to connect the Netbook to printer using either USB or Wireless(if this feature is available in your printer).... most printers these days can be connected using USB cable.. after connecting you will need to install printer drivers on your netbook... and after installing drivers your netbook will detect your printer and you are ready to go!

The printer won/t connect even with a disc

if the printer wont connect to your desktop or laptop but has power, changing the cable would be posible, or check the integrity of the ports that you are connecting, if a desktop or laptop does not detect the printer it only means that you have a bad printer cable

How do i connect to a laser jet 1020 dell

If the printer is new out of box then remove the printer out of the box with the Data cable and the power cable with the disc.

Connect the power cable from the printer to the power jack.

Connect the data cable from the printer to the USB port in the laptop.

Once this is done turn on the printer.

The system will detect the printer and a dialog box prompts the installation of the printer.

Then put the DVD on to the drive and from the dialog box choose the location as the CD/DVD drive as a source from where to install the software. This will install the printer and the printer is ready to use.

install the contents of the CD/DVD by accessing and double clicking the drive directly.

I ve just bought lexmark z2300 printer, how do i connect it to my laptop which is on wireless broadband with perlico? ta caroline.

You need to connect the printer with an extra cable which can join it through its 25 pin parallel cable. That cable then with USB end connect with the Laptop. and its drivers can be automatically detect by your Vista system.
For Vista 64-bit, the driver for printer and cable should be digitally signed.
Otherwise you need this method for Driver Installation in Windows Vista 64-bit:
The 64-bit version of Windows Vista is the first version of Windows that will only allow signed drivers and this restriction is built-in. For most cable drivers are unsigned and we request you to follow some prerequisites before installing the driver.
Preparing Vista 64-bit for Driver installation:
  • Using the F8 option: Press F8 key on your keyboard while booting your PC. You will get into “Advanced Boot Options”. Select “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”
  • An F8 Advanced Boot Option introduced with Windows Vista—“Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”—is available to disable the kernel-signing enforcement only for the current boot session. This setting does not persist across boot sessions.
  • Note: Make sure to use F8 option every time you boot/reboot your PC before start working with MCS77XX.
  • Make sure that the User installing the driver must be a member of the Administrator group on the system.
And for printer driver if you dont have CD then go through this link and follow the steps:

Let me know if you need furhter assistance, I will help you to run your Printer with Laptop.
