Question about Whirlpool GS5SHAXN Side by Side Refrigerator
From your description , it sounds like the overload/relay pt # 2319792 has burnt out . This is the piece plugged onto the side of the compressor with 2 or 3 wires going to it . You can easily replace . Costs about $ 40.00 . Also , would be wise to clean your condenser coils in the front of the refrig ( bottom ) due to if they get too hot , the compressor will cut off and try to restart causing the overload/relay to short out quicker and shorter life for the compressor .

Could be several different things. Try to listen if the compressor is running or humming. Check to see if the evaporator fan is operating (behind the back wall) The evaporator coil could be frozen solid preventing air to flow through coil. If this is the case, either your defrost heater is broken or the fan is broken.
