Question about EA - Electronic Arts The Sims Deluxe Edition for Windows
Check Device Manager from the Control Panel (exact commands depend on the Windows version). You may have a driver issue (look for a yellow triangle with an exclamation point or a red triangle with an x). If you see either one, try updating the driver. Otherwise, it may be a problem with the lens or other part of the hardware. (If you can get a cleaning disc to read, try that.)
If the above do not help: to install the game, either attach an external optical drive (USB) or replace the drive with a new one. (If you don't need a Blu-ray drive, it will be cheaper to replace than to repair the drive.)
