You may try and hold down the shift button and then select the folder. This is a shortcut to open files or folders with administrator rights.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I want to transfer data from my old computer to my new conputer using my Segate 500 GB back up drive. How do I do that?

First, you need to choose all the files you want to back up and put that into a folder then plug in your external harddrive click "my computer and double click your external hard drive and it will open another window. just drag all the folders that you want to backup and paste that to the new open windows which is your hard drive then thats it. just remove the external harddrive correctly and wait for the file to be complete transferred.

hope this helps. please rate my solution thanks.

Seagate free agent pro 500 gig external hard drive NOT RECOGNIZED

You better check with the Seagate people. This seems to be a problem with the casing. And since you're under warranty, you can get a replacement.

Multisystem ulility plus supporting OS

If you use the utility that comes with the drive, you will be able to access all of your files and folders that you encrypt on the drive privided that you don't forget your password. If you want to make sure that the drive is protable (can be used on multiple systems), you need to make sure you enable Travel Mode with the Seagate Manager software. You must remember the password in order to access your files.

Seagate Free Agent 1.5TB doesn't encrypt

I was fumbling around with this as well. I found a manual on my external drive itself. I had to read through it carefully before i saw a small note.

Note: After you open your Encryption folder on the first computer and user account with which
you use Seagate Manager, it will be saved on that computer so that will never need to
enter it again. When opening your Encryption folder from another computer or user
account, however, you will need to enter your password.

I have yet to test it by creating another user account, then attempting to access the files. I am confident that this is the answer.

Free agent doesnt encrypt

I Posted a solution to this prob but i don't see it anymore. Your ext drive is Encrypting your folder. It just knows you're the one using it. If I took it and plugged it in to my computer, it would recognize my user name as t0mthab0mb and prompt me for the password. Try it. Create a different user account on your computer, then try to access the encryption folder from the new account.
