Well you have to buy a new mother board.because unlike like the desktop the VGA card is built on the motherboard so you have to change the whole board.

The fact that the power button is flashing when you push it shows that the computer is still receiving power, however if the computer does not boot then some hardware in the computer must be damaged or faulty. You will likely have to take it to a repair shop so they can figure out which piece of hardware is defective, although i suspect it is the motherboard.

I have a hp model dv6-1355dx laptop and the screen is pink where its suppose to be white and its fuzzy all over

From Previous experience the Pink and fuzzy Video is likely due to a bad backlight and Invertor. You would need to relplace these or pay for them to be replaced.

However sometimes these devices has burned out due to overheating, which might have damaged the soldering on the BGA connections of your video card. This video card is not removeable, which mean your only option would be to remove he whole motherboard, use tinfoil to cup around the video card to block the rest of the motherboard from issues. Then use a SUPERHOT hairdryer or an actual SOLDER FLOW heatgun to rebake the video card CPU to reflow the solder. There are online repair shops that might do this for you $150-$250

I am not sure as i am having the same problem, also are you using a laptop if so there is a small chance of changing the card as most are built on the motherboard. If all does not seem upgradable the other option is replacing the whole motherboard but with a better video-card(graphics-card) but this can cost almost as much as the laptop itself. If your using a Computer there is a huge chance of changing the card. Any other questions just email me at guitarhero1@ntlworld.com

HP zv5430us laptop has no video. Blank

The laptop has a built-in video card and the video RAM uses part of the main RAM.
First, re-seat the RAM modules and if the laptop still does not boot up normally then remove the RAM and get it tested at your friendly computer repair shop.
If the RAM is OK then connect an external monitor to the laptop, power up the monitor first and then the laptop. The video data should divert to the external monitor automatically, if you do not get any video image on the monitor then the video card in the laptop is faulty and a motherboard replacement is required.
A replacement motherboard may not be a cost effective solution and If it was me, I would put my money on a new laptop. I would then remove the hard disk and insert it into an USB adapter case and use it as an external USB hard drive.

Without a copy of the diagnostics they did, if it is the video card then they are correct. The video card is a part of the main unit (motherboard). You would need to replace your motherboard, which can be costly.

An alternative is that if you have data you want to keep is that you can put the hard drive in an external hard drive enclosure and get another laptop.

Toshiba satellite 1800 - 921 monitor black. tried to turn it on no display?

Can you try plugging the laptop into an external monitor and enabling the external video? I think on a Toshiba, that's a Function +F5 key together (or holding the function key and pressing the F5 key.) Repeatedly using that combination should cycle through using the built-in LCD panel only, LCD +external or external-only. If none of them work, there is a good chance you have a dead video card in your computer at which point you have two options: 1) replace the whole computer or 2)replace the on-board video (sometimes it's not built-in to the motherboard, but attached to it so it can be easily replaced once you open the case.)

My guess, based on limited experience, is that if the on-board video is bad, there's probably more damage than just the on-board video and you might as well replace the whole thing. There's a possibility you might find the same make/model of laptop on eBay or somewhere like that with a damaged LCD panel that you can use to rebuild yours.

HP PAVILLION DV9500

HP will not cover the repair if guaranty is expired.

Video card on your laptop is integrated on motherboard, and the repairman must replace the whole motherboard to fix it.

I quote : "Only half the screen works the rest is justa grey colouring." that is more likely a problem with the ribbon cable, connecting LCD, or with LCD screen itself, in some case , as said by the repairman , it can be the video card.
if the repairman did not open and inspected the laptop LCD display , connector and cables, then the problem it is probably the ribbon cable or the LCD panel.
The technician mentioned the motherboard, because that is the most expensive repair service, so that he can cover his back.

Ask a quote to a different technician, see if this can give you different quotes for all possible faults.

The possibilities are:

1 Replace ribbon cable

2 Replace LCD display

3 Replace motherboard.
