I have Fargo DTC550 ID printer printing double image can someone help

Hi Arthur -
If by "double-image" you mean that you see multiple identical images printed, but each is slightly offset and appear in yellow, magenta, or cyan ink colors, then it seems like the card is slipping within the printer as it prints. These printers print 1 color at a time, with a total of 5 passes to complete 1 card image - 1 pass each for the yellow, magenta, cyan, black & clear overlay panels of a standard YMCKO ribbon. If the card doesn't get positioned properly for each new panel on the ribbon, then the subsequent image will have a slight offset to it.

The fix could be as simple as a thorough cleaning - with supplies from a Fargo dealer (like us!) that are appropriate for that model. It could also be that the printer requires a ribbon-sensor calibration. To do this, you could need to download the Fargo Workbench Utility program from the HID Global website here: (Drivers Downloads) . There is a "Printer Information" view in this utility, and then a "Test" you can run called "Ribbon Calibration" - do it regardless of the cleaning.

If still not resolved, contact us or your Fargo dealer for further support.

Ribbon miscue on cyan fargo hdp5000

There are a few things which could lead to a ribbon miscue. The most obvious would be your firmware. Go to Fargo's site and download the latest firmware patch. Your printer may driver be corrupted, so uninstall and then re-install it. One other possibility is that your printer has a faulty ribbon sensor which would need replacing. I hope this helps

Download the latest copy of the C30 firmware, Fargo created a fix by sending more power to the ribbon sensor. After downloading the new firmware, calibrate the ribbon covering the printer the best you can from light.

Fargo DTC400 is giving me "INVALID RIBBON" error

I think you or your machine have answered your own question. The machine said it isn't going to use the 300 ribbon and that is that.

I dont have experience with your particular model but I can tell you a Ford starter will not start a Chevrolet automobile.

I think you should take the 300 ribbon back and get a 400. If they wont take it back, trade somewhere else.

So, what do you say?

Dtc300 is stuck in "replace ribbon" mode n there's nothing wrong with it.

are you using a ribbon made for the dtc300? there are some ribbons made for the other unit that look the same.

also, you might want to try updating the firmware.
