Question about Hampton Bay Dryers
Re arrange your wiring there is a problem on it.try to figure out the neural terminal of the switch.let me elaborate the wiring for you so that you'll understand the proper connection of the motor.
Let us label the power cord as L1 and L2 this is the input power from the wall out let. The line goes directly to the motor L1 terminal. The L2 should be soldered to the neutral terminal of the switch. S1,S2, S3 are the speed selector of the switch. The operation of the switch is once the speed button switch is pressed example S1 this switch connects directly to neutral button which we labeled L2 then the current flows to the motor from the wall outlet.and the fan starts up.likewise with the S2 and S3.good luck hope i helped you .pls post a comment if you have any clarification so i can help you further

I advice you check the connection very well, are all the wires connected very well?, are all the wires touching their connectors? if yes, i would suggest you disconnect all the wires and reconnect them back, if the problem still persist, compare the new switch with the old one to see if they are of the same ratings, if not, return and get the exact switch for the unit.
