Check for rust/debris on the nozzles (these are small screws with single hole in them inside of the burner, clean the burner, dissassembly and clean the valves on the grill NOT ON THE BOTTLE!

this should solve the problem, alternatively, if burner was not used for long time, regulator maybe stuck in this position and will need replacement.

My Bar B Chef grill grates are totally rusted. Are stainless steel grates better or should I stick with cast iron?

I prefer cast iron. Cast iron heats more evenly and retains temperature better. If they are falling apart from rust, junk them. If they just have surface rust and no holes, all you have to do is brush them with a steel brush at high heat. Wipe them off with a wet rag and then rub it with an onion to provide a teflon layer. if it is really heavy rust, spray oven cleaner on them and hose off. After use or for storage, clean them and then wipe them down with a cooking oil soaked rag. The oil will reduce rust build up.

How do I get best results with the weber BBQ as far as heat efficiency

You can actually get some good cooking tips at the weber on-line site. That said, you really don't want to concentrate on efficiency but rather on the type of food you are cooking. I always used to stack the brickets in the beginning to get them lit and graying and then spread them for an even heat to enable cooking on all of the grill surface. If you need more concentrated heat from below then leave them stacked or in a bricket rack.

I have my Weber Q grill hooked up to a large propane tank rather than the small tube type. It worked fine for a few weeks but now the grill only gets medium hot. Not hot enough to cook anything really. ...

Seems as if your grill is suffering from "Clogged Burner Syndrome". But, don't despair, it's easily solved by removing and thoroughly cleaning the burners or "coil" as you called it. Also, pay particular attention to the venturi valves on the open end of the burner. Spiders like to build nests in them. The venturi valve will look like a slot on the right and left of the burner tube, where it fits over the burner orifice. It's really a good idea to perform this routine maintenance, at the start of each grilling season.

When it comes to gas grills, it's like Benjamin Franklin said, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

Flame up & really bad hot spot , flavor bars keep catching on fi

Remove the cooking grids and briquette grid if applicable, so you can see the burners when lit. It should be an even blue flame thoughout. If not, you may need a cleaning or replace burner(s).

How do i know the coals are still hot and cooking my food and im not sure ive placed them right in weber

Pile the charcoal up in the center of the weber to light them. Wait until they all turn white, most people don't wait long enough. Then spread them out in one layer on the bottom. Put on the grate and cook.

How do I take my Weber Genesis grill apart to clean the burners? The burners are not heating up properly. The flame is very poor and not hot enough to cook food.

Turn on just one burner, once it is lit, turn on a second burner, if the flame gets lower or goes out, you probably need a new regulator.

Help need some beginner tips in using the Smokey Joe Weber Grill - charcoal

I am the mutha of all smokey Joe grillers. I love this little machine. The secret is to place your coals on one side of that little jewel. Get em hot and do your grilling thang; then place them critters on the cooler side of the grill to get all mellow till the throwdown. The holes in the top are pretty dang handy. If that smokey joe gets too hot close off them holes and cover up that rig. I used to take along smokey joe to the gulf shores of alabama down to the red sand lagoon and feed my little ones with hot dogs burgers and alabama smoked sausage. Best little thang on the planet. Somewhere in south alabama my little smokey joe is cooking away hotdogs and sausages fer my children and grand children. I may never see my little grill again. I won't find another little grill that can brang as much fun as my little smokey joe grill. Just add a small amount of charcoals ans let em get gray. Keep that grill clean. Brang plenty cold bevs. Party on with a Weber!
It lasts fer generations. Now where the hell is my smokey Joe? Damn younguns! LOL!
