Question about Dymo LabelWriter 400 Thermal Printer

1 Answer

Symo LabelWriter 400 turbo will not print

I was printing stamps one at a time when the machine suddenly fed a number of stamp blanks through and one got caught, upside down apparently, as it stuck to the roller. I tried to get it out and got part, but not all. So, I opened the bottom and the cables came loose from their connections, even though I opened it slowly and carefully. I tried to attach them again, and tried to print from the Dymo 400 turbo. It wouldn't print. To make matters worse, somehow, it seems to have messed up my regular printer as well, as nothing will print from there either. Please help! Thanks.

There some non connected missed cable, check all again. if any wire loosed, is better dont open again send to repair. probably you can do more damage, than repair. it very sensitive to static it can be burned very easy.

I had a roll of stamps in the Dymo labelwriter and when I pressed print somehow one of the stamps got caught in the label machine and have not been able to take it out. I need help!!

I have had this problem too. Lift the top cover, pull off the front cover. On the side with the jammed stamp, that piece can lift up to reveal the roller under it. You should be able to remove the stamp.

My labelwriter 400 turbo all of a sudden won't print when I press the print button. Tried downloading the newest software 8.2.2 but still doesn't print. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What happens when you try to print? Does the printer make any sound like it's trying to print? Is the light on on the front? If you look at available printers, does it show it as available?

Merely reboot software and then roll unused labels back on machine. That works for me.

This is the response from dymo stamp. I did as they said and am now printing stamps again.
We have seen this cause problems with the .NET framework Microsoft uses and Dymo Stamp uses. Follow these steps to correct it Step 1: Download Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Dymo LabelWriter 400 Turbo/Postage Issue

Yes, you are indeed doing something wrong. In terms of the "free" electronic postage offer, what you want to sign up for is the "DYMO Stamps" program, offered via endicia (this is different from endicia's other PAID programs...just be aware).

Simply put, just google "dymo stamps" and the first hit will bring you right to the sign-up location you want.

Just to clarify, unless you have a special program I'm not aware of, is most definitely NOT free. They require a monthy fee (of course, they do have a free first month if that's what you're talking about). Regardless, DOES work with the LabelWriter 400...but just not with the special "Dymo Stamp Labels" (these "stamps" only work with the free monthly servcie I mentioned earlier, "DYMO Stamps"). You can print up postage/labels via just fine using the other size 2-part or 3-part labels sold via or's store.

good luck!
